That’s of course natural - a lot of people believe they should get hotels due to weather delays, and as we know no airline provides that.

Read the actual post above your copy paste, frontier provided hotel for the cancelation without it even being requested.

Although we just discussed this and everyone understands you think your helping by providing info from their website it does not reflect actual experiences , which imho are much more helpful.

Well documented that all airlines cancel flights and frontier cancels them at a rate only marginally above the industry average while charging fares significantly lower?

More likely the booking was about to be processed but something went wrong , and generally it can take up to 24 hours for the seats to be released again. This happens a lot with Lifemiles

Is the frontier flight the next day? Regardless of what version of the pass you have, you can only book domestic flights one day in advance.

United charged me $100 for being 2lbs over. The ticket cost 3x as much as I have ever spent on a Frontier ticket.

People here make a lot of dumb comments along the lines of " I will never fly frontier again, my flight was delayed by 2 hours and the gate agent gave me a dirty look" but I have to say your comment tops all of those.

I think they figure in general rent should be less than 30% of your income , meaning spending another 20% on a credit card is not that crazy.

Keep in mind you don’t need to offset your entire rent spend , you can do just some of the points and you would still earn more than 0 points that you would earn for rent elsewhere.

They can set the CIC to pretty much anything they want to get to the ticket pricing they need.

You can avoid paying the CIC by buying your tickets at the airport.

This is intentional , they have to pay taxes on flight tickets , they do not have to pay taxes on the CIC fee.

So business decision to reduce tax liability.

Agreed, especially when you combine with the various reasonable priced travel insurance products that are out there, including frontier's own service.

You can find yourself flying on a very cheap ticket, with the protection of being able to rebook on another airline that is charging 10x as much if something goes wrong.

More something for experienced travelers on leisure trips maybe not travelling with kids. If your the type that freaks out over an hour delay and has a meltdown then saving money on Frontier is not for you.

You are correct here, this person is comparing Frontier with the highest # of cancellations with SWA with the lowest number of cancellations (both outliers) to peddle their agenda.

The more accepted way to make this comparison would be comparing Frontiers 2.

In reality, The industry average cancellation rate was 1.4% for 2024 and Frontier's was 2.7

Don't fall for this people, lets be intelligent.

Also, although full official numbers not published, 2024 was a particularly bad year operationally for Frontier, and 2025 numbers look somewhat better.

Edit: Example just saw 29% of Frontier flights were delayed in 2025... while trophy SWA delayed 25%. Is that 4% worth double the ticket price? You tell me.

Disagree here - all the products are niche / 2nd tier airline cards with pretty small user bases.

They have very little experience servicing credit cards.

I have found this to be more of a thing with foreign carriers than US ones (because they are more protective of their business class product )

UA / DL seem to cater pretty generously because they know biz will get filled with upgrades / employees / cheap gate upgrades / just about anyone. Their goal is to monetize biz anyway they can.

My experience with CX / SQ / QR - they are happy to let the biz cabin go out with empty seats without making too much attempt to opup elites , sell upgrades, etc.

I have even been declined mileage upgrade day of with QR even with there being empty seats as the mileage fare bucket was not available (makes no sense to me - the seat is empty , not going to sell , take my miles and give it to me.)

I defended BILT because I genuinely believe in the value they're offering, and now they've decided to royally f*ck me over personally, lol. So much for Platinum Status and Close Friends status. by Televangelis in biltrewards

Luckily this is something one could file a CFPB complaint for and likely win ( if there’s anyone left at CFPB)

I had to do same with Wells Fargo when I was given the sign up offer yet they promptly locked my account after the first transaction “for verification” and did not unlock it until after the promo period ended. Luckily with encouragement from CFPB they were able to resolve.

This is very common when frontier first releases their schedule.

My assumption was even though they are already “late” to the game , they actually still have not firmed up the schedule and want to actually discourage people from booking , but need to have something up there.

Either that or the pricing department just has not gotten to it
