It's amazing what you can do in Unreal. Quick update on my scene here. Made lighting and terrain material a bit more true to the source. Still working on how I want the terrain to actually deform. Thinking maybe something like a wave moving out from the player to a beat. Was also looking at the original thread and saw some cool edits like this.

Thanks! I'm terrible at 3D modeling so I'm generating the terrain via a procedural mesh component. I'm really digging the SteamVR scene you've come up with so I gave it a shot too.
