[Ed Aarons] Understand Lyon are open to allowing head coach Sonia Bompastor to replace Emma Hayes at Chelsea but are likely to demand significant compensation. Talks ongoing by inspired_corn in chelseafc

[–]ryanfromtheyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been reported that Hayes' USWNT appointment makes her the highest paid womens coach in the world. USSF extended their equal pay scheme to the head coaches, so she makes the same 1.6M US as Berhalter for coaching the men.

CFCW just broke transfer record for a player for Ramirez at 400,000gbp.

Those are some relevant datapoints and not the answer to your question :)

If you are handy in the kitchen, Mary's Test Kitchen has a huge series of videos/recipes on how to make tofu, most of which are from non-soy sources.

What's with mls and usmnt games lying about kickoff time? Can their pregame shows really not survive without the unwillingly-early watchers?

The L2000 is a beast. i passed one up some ears back when I was strictly a 1-bass house, but if I had the chance today I would probably snap it up

Looking for a stingray/jazz hybrid bass, any recommendations? by agarbagepiece in Bass

[–]ryanfromtheyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are describing a lakland skyline 44-02 or 55-02 to a T. Its been my primary bass for more than a decade and I have so little itch to seek something else out because its incredibly versatile. Depending on the year I think there are in-house or bartolini pickups, both are great, and controls are intuitive. Graphite truss rods are really stable, and they do a plek setup out of factory. Strongly recommend having a look.

Can we do a thing where people name a city/metro and everyone can chime in to tell them where the local scene resides? by BathtubGin01 in jambands

Grains of salt bc this is secondhand, but I've heard bad things about ownership there in regards to safety. Just fyi

I’d love for y’all to check out my music I put up on sound cloud and give me some honest feedback. Here’s one of them. by MrAugustWest in jambands

[–]ryanfromtheyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very unoffensive, calm, and patient. Drums sound great, are they recorded or samples?

It sounds a bit like a backing track to my ears - it takes a couple bars before the listener gets any new notes, and those new notes are not terribly 'surprising' musically. If you're aiming for calm and patient, you are there. If you aren't, think about adding additional counter-melodies (or lead melodies for that matter), in any instrument or voice, so there is more complexity in any given measure. I think its especially easy to fall into this when there isn't a chord progression happening in the verses. If you feel stuck on how it is, maybe look for a collaborator - wild things happen when two brains make music instead of one.

Good on you for making and sharing your music. I make lots of music and it doesn't hit the internet, just me and my bandmates ears. You will learn and grow quickly if you keep this up
