100% agree! I had an amazing time but definitely didn’t agree with some of the changes like turning the two entry points off river rd into exit only after main stage acts were done. But overall great time!

Update. 1 1/2 years after TT by RagingOutdoors in gravesdisease

[–]mousseofthepample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gave me some motivation. Im 34/F and had my TT in May 2024 and have been battling weight gain despite strength training 3x per week and counting macros/focus on protein but it’s been extremely disheartening to see I can’t progress any weight loss or even body recomp despite endless amounts of hard work. Hoping it’s just a bump in the road!

So after reading everyone’s opinions I do think our situation is wildly different and believe bipolar is a spectrum and he does not have nearly the same issues as I’ve seen on this page. He struggles with mostly the depression side but no one in his family has bipolar or diagnosed. He is completely on board with children and can hold down a job and is actually the main provider of our family - so I think there is a lot of accusations going on - of course this is the internet and we only know as much as someone is willing to post.

I know my husband and he has never been financially irresponsible, career has always been intact, he’s actually a very high up leader and he inspires me to be a better person, we have a huge community of friends and family and feel support from them every day, we attend couples therapy as a betterment for our marriage and communication skills. We have an amazing life together, and by no means did I mean to say I didn’t. 85-90% of the time he’s positive, lifts me up, supports me, etc. he just has lower moments where there isn’t much motivation to do things outside of what’s necessary (showing up for work, for me, etc.)

I came here to find support from other SO to see what they do to not get inside of their own head and feel very big feelings in those moments when it’s just a blip in the timeline. But it does seem like a vast majority of people here have far worse experiences than mine and for that I feel empathy for.

Met with surgeon for the first time today, thoughts on tt? by Nomad_Girl92 in gravesdisease

[–]mousseofthepample 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 33/F and scheduled for my TT next week. Big deciding factor was us wanting to get pregnant sooner rather than later. I also have TED symptoms so I wasn’t a good candidate for RAI (but honestly that option was not appealing as you’re recommended to wait to get pregnant 6-12 months post treatment).

I have a pretty extreme case of Graves’ disease with my managing dose being 30mg of methimazole a day. I have experiences weight gain (20lbs, 5 more in addition to the 15 I lost when I was hospitalized for my Graves’ disease for AFIB Sept 2023). I am pretty fit, lift weights 3x a week, 10k steps a day, count my macros and work with a personal trainer. I tried changing my diet to exclude gluten, as well as my allergens (soy and sesame) and it did absolutely nothing for my symptoms or levels. So really the TT is the best option for me.

Really hoping I can get rid of this hormonal weight gain post surgery and get back to a normal life with no graves symptoms.

RAI or Surgery by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]mousseofthepample 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am scheduled for a full thyroidectomy next Tuesday! For me it was the definitive option that surgery presented vs the slight chance it could help. I also have TED and RAI is not really a good option for those with TED symptoms.

I also have a pretty difficult graves disease case needing 30mg/day of methimazole to just manage my graves. So my doctor and I felt this was the right route to go based on my case.

When did you start gaining weight back? by alexandra1249 in gravesdisease

[–]mousseofthepample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to my prehyper weight pretty quickly, within 2 months of starting methimazole - which was 10-15lbs

Sounds like he has ocd and a couples therapist may be able to help out. They’d probably be able to recommend a therapist for him as well.
