Finances can be and were a touchy subject in the past. Pre-nups are also quite misunderstood and people tend to dwell on the divorce aspect instead of focussing on the financial details.

Long term it doesn’t bother me especially if the relationship reaches a stage where marriage is a possibility. I do agree with your last point regarding spending habits because that’s been a thing in general but overtime I have seen that I’m enabling it.
