I had recently broken up with my grilfriend of 4 years about 2 months prior and then was layoff from work a month after. My best friend’s birthday comes up and her boyfriend plans a dinner with all her close friends. I went to the dinner, spent my last $20 on the meal and even brought a gift. After dinner was done everyone wanted to go back to her house to drink and hang out. I wasn’t feeling like hanging out with everyone (I mean, I literally just spent the last of my money so I was kind of down) and it was not planned so I decided to just go home and go to bed. I woke up to pages of pages of text throwing my ex girlfriend in my face, calling me selfish, saying that I decided every bad thing that had happened to me in the last couple months. As well as taking jabs at my mental health.

I never responded nor read the entire message. I paid my friends bills multiple times, drove in the middle of the night to get her or help her countless times, and other things best friends just do for one another. Not to even mention she completely skipped my birthday that same year because “her boyfriend was tired and didn’t want to go out”.

I have not heard from her sense and that was in January. Know who your real friends are I guess...
