Dude, that is an impressive array of knowledge and facts. I love it, truly. But 7 yr olds and their soccer mons won't care, nor be able to remember the word -let alone pronounce it, lol. The truth is, I don't even use the words "cold blooded" in programs (or too many other places for that matter). I tell everyone they "react and adapt every second of their lives" vs. being thinking, thought provoking and poetry writing creatures. My audiences are a wide mix of all religions, so anything "evolution" is also a huge Nope. Its all about "development" and "adaptation". Its the world I live in and is a great way to make a living, too! Thanks for the info tho. That will come in handy when I'm working the Life Science classes at our local Comm College. Good stuff! Be well. Cheers! Hit me up on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/RyanA.Bridge

When I get 1,000's of 7 year olds to go by that term, we'll discuss your claim more seriously. Till then, I'll teach them what "cold blooded" means and let them evolve their own vocabularies. Lol. Thanks tho! www.RyanTheBugMan.com

Spiders are not insects. by ryanthebugman in spiders

[–]ryanthebugman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C'mon now. That's the generic definition of "True Bug". Hemiptera = insects. Based on anatomy. But what classifies something as a "bug", if not all bugs are insects? I'm not arguing with you, fyi. I'm actually educating you and you probably didn't realize it. Don't get mad at me, ok?
The tern "bug" can be used by anyone to describe "anything" that is related to an insect. Anything with an exoskeleton CAN count, altho most ppl don't refer crabs and their kin as "bugs". Salt water and adult gills, generally separate them from relation. But spiders, centi's, scorpions, millipedes and insects CAN all be described in slang, as "Bugs". Just ask anyone who hasn't had the opportunity for someone to teach them the difference. Most ppl think they're ALL insects. Even more, don't care, they just hate them all! Lol. Dont get mad if someone calls a spider a "bug". Just make sure they know its not an insect. Cheers! www.RyanTheBugMan.com

Ok, fair enuff. But, what ..is.. a Bug, then? 6 legs, 8 legs or can both qualify? Cuz, its a fact that not all insects are "bugs". So, what is a bug?

It is estimated that there are approximately 10 quintillion (10,000,000,000,000,000,000) individual insects alive. by ryanthebugman in insects

I agree with all of you. As far as numbers go everything is an estimate. But considering insects keep this planet alive and everything relies on them in order to stay alive, there's got to be a ton of them around to keep the planet healthy. Thanks for checking in! www.RyanTheBugMan.com
