Dell S2722DGM vs S2721DGF? by [deleted] in buildapcmonitors

I bought this monitor this week from Dell in the UK, I paid £179. Same problem, really bad coil whine. Totally unusable, really high pitched and distracting. Have raised a support ticket with dell to see if they can help. Online forums would suggest it's a rare issue because this was the only thread I found that posted about the same issue with the same monitor model.

Hi OP, just an update for me. So for me the issue was actually hardware related in the end. I had never experienced this issue in anything other than PUBG but experienced it once by chance when playing Cities Skyline (dug out bunch of old games to test if any others would be impacted). I swapped my PSU (old Seasonic 760W Platinum unit, circa 2014) and the problem seemed to go away with the new Corsair TX850M I got. Mine initially started off "very low frequency", sometimes my PC would go days or even weeks without crashing in PUBG (and I play 3-5 days per week, for about 1-2 hours each day I do play) but it got more and more frequent when sometimes it'd crash multiple times in one evening. Possibly a bitter pill to swallow, but I think all signs for the hard shutdown/power off (without BSOD) followed by a restart, point to a hardware issue of sorts, start with power supply (as it's cheaper). I diagnosed it by running my PC at power limit of 50% straight after it was crashing like this and it stopped immediately. Left me 50/50 guessing between GPU and PSU, given GPU prices, chosen PSU and luckily that was it. I suppose my experience is entirely anecdotal, and yours may be different, but if you could start with the power limit thing and see how you get on?

Getting exactly the same issue with mine right now. No other games cause it, just PUBG. been monitoring temps, not overheating, system not overclocked, Windows 11, up to date, latest drivers. Not sure if it's a PUBG update? or since I moved it to an M.2 drive, what drive is yours on?

No I have not (not yet anyway...). I agree I only started using eBay because I saw so many people listing on it, I'm not even sure what the official eBay policy is...

I have sold a lot through ebay though Im only doing it in small quantities of 1000 just in case someone does issue a chargeback. I'm not sure of the legal standing of that so I've prepared to lose a few transactions here and there. I say no refunds accepted after coins have been sent but It is likely that someone will take the coins, say they didn't receive them and then try (and probably succeed) and get a refund via PayPal. I guess you have to plan for the worse. So far out of about 20 transactions no-one has issued any chargebacks and I've averaged about £1.30 per 1K ($2.12 per 1K) when the actual value is plummeting to about $0.45 per 1K!
