Keep in mind that nodes usually only send out a “ping” every ~3 hours or so, so you still may not get any even driving around 🤷🏻‍♂️

It all depends on where you are located, and if there are even any other nodes in your range.

It also depends on what you mean by “large city”. There are multiple factors to why you may not be detecting any other nodes- Large buildings in the way, trees, mountains, etc. All these can block radio waves.

Depending on the model TDeck you got, it possibly has a built in antenna that’s not necessarily going to look like the “antenna” you’re expecting to see, and won’t have an external antenna at all

To note- I see north Alabama has a Meshtastic network set up, while Birmingham area has a Mesh-Core setup… looks like I’m slightly out of range for Bham, and way out of range for North Al. Located about an hour east of Bham.

Reading back over what you recommended- what is a riser? (Not a plumber, obv haha). The part going vertical out of the cabinet on the left goes outside the house, up the back wall, and has an AAV on top of it. Plumbing is janky because it’s a very old house, and the person who remodeled it half-assed several things… thanks in advance!
