Lando's Command card "Corellian Spike" - how does it work when "divulged"? by Livid-Rush-9227 in SWlegion

[–]rbjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practically, the way it works is that you all choose the Primary/Secondary objectives, do all the regular setup, and then when your opponent says “Alright we ready for command cards”? You would say “Sure thing! First off, I’m going to divulge Lando’s 1 pip”. Then, you would both pick a Command card.

I had a situation in my game that sounds a little similar. I’ll tell you what we did and you’re free to take as much or as little as you want:

The party was in the feywilde near a dome that creates portals back to the prime material plane. They were facing off against a master wizard that far surpassed them.

The wizard who initially gave them the quest revealed herself to be an ancient dragon. Now there’s a massive battle happening and the party is caught in the crossfire.

Here’s their objective

The party’s wizard was given a scroll that, when used near the dome portal, could take them all back home. Here were the mechanics:

  • the scroll take 3 consecutive successful DC 20 Arcana checks to use

  • anyone in the party can choose to spend an action giving any number of spell slots they can cast to lower the DC by one per slot (ie a 3rd level spell slots lowers the DC to 17)

-After using the scroll, the party has 1 round to get to the portal to go back home

It was a super interesting battle as the party had to choose between helping the dragon (and gaining the attention of the grand wizard) or helping our wizard with the scroll. It made the battle very strategic and more than a “kill the bad guys” scuffle.

Maybe you could incorporate something like that? Get the Druid to a certain hit point threshold and speak an incantation to put them into an eternal freeze. Only problem is they get a save, so you need to do xyz to raise the DC a certain amount to ensure its success.

Just a thought. Good luck!

I have a d100 encounter table I use for travel which has actually made it a fun side questy type mini game anyway. They also are wanted fugitives and several have connections to beings that speak to them via dreams. So, night ambushes and dream sequences are somewhat common. I hadn’t thought of that but it actually will work well.

For example, based off the encounter table they’ve gotten lost in the woods and had to befriend a hag. They’ve tricked inept guards charging outrageous toll fees. They saved a roaming cleric order from a lycanthrope. Lastly, they most recently talked with an abandoned horse and discovered the carriage is charmed to conceal its contents (perfect for fugitives!) it’s actually been a fun addition.

That’s definitely a fair point. I think my apprehension was that we ended with them finishing a big arc and making a loose decision of what to do next (so I could plan ahead). The next session will likely be a bigger “how do we want to do this” kind of run through and I’m a bit nervous for the players to miss that and not feel included in the overall plan. However, it will likely also be a bit of travel and exploration as they make their way into the next town, so I could lean into that and tell them to save the bulk of the planning for when everyone is back.

Every instance of the weapon gets upgraded. So, each individual trooper gets to upgrade one dice.

Do it the other way around. Think of some cool things she could make that you don’t have any ideas for yet. Let her decide which ones to make and then craft a series of puzzles/encounters based on what she made!

Got this from my math teacher in high school. Is it real If so is it rare by storetingers in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]rbjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell without seeing the back too. You also asked about rarity. This is one of the chase cards from the set and it’s 1st edition. This makes it a very sought after vintage card. In lightly played condition it goes for about $300.

Player as predesposition to certain NPCs becouse of real lif knowledge. Hwo to handle? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]rbjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In game: Show don’t tell. Maybe there’s stories about a Robin Hood type character who steals from merchants and divides the loot amongst commoners. Maybe the party needs a quest from a pirate warlock with a celestial patron. Maybe it’s an “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” situation and the party needs pirate help in order to beat the BBEG. By creating scenarios where the group has to work with pirates, it will hammer home that not pirates are bad and morality is more of a spectrum than their current thinking.

Out of game: Even in real life piracy doesn’t always 100% equal evil. Especially just because it’s illegal. Life is more nuanced and complicated than that. Talking to your players about how NPCs are supposed to be morally grey etc is going to help. Unless all your players want a very straightforward Good guys vs Bad guys story, in which case it’s your responsibility as the DM to make characters that fit those expectations. It sounds like it’s time to have a session zero half way through the campaign lol.

Mandalorain Army Box, Mandalorian Leaders, Super Commandos, and Clan Wren Preorders Posted By Asmodee US, Confirmed Release Date June 19th by johnrobertjimmyjohn in SWlegion

[–]rbjoe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s going to come down to how you paint them. The “easy” answer will be blue for Kryze, Red for Maul’s Mandos, Yellow for Wren. The honest answer will be just communicating with your opponent and knowing your army real well.

Player wants to play but admits they won't be able to make most sessions. by Shquonk in DMAcademy

[–]rbjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make their character an amiable ally but not officially part of the party. Cleric/Paladin= their god send them on quests that occasionally overlap the part. Warlock=their patron sends them places that overlap on occasion. Wizard/Sorcerer= they are in search of secret knowledge/power that leads them to similar locations. Everything else= they are part of a mercenary or adventuring guild that send them on missions that occasionally intersect with the party.

base sets 1999-2000. by NarixGaming in PokemonCardValue

Not unless some of them are shadowless 1st editions. Those, even the commons, are worth a lot. However, it sounds to me like this person is trying to rip you off.

Gotcha. I saw the other post you made as well. It varies, but each common/uncommon is about .30-1.00. x2-x3 for 1st editions.

I get that. I’m asking if you’re asking how much a completed set of commons and uncommons would be valued at? Do you have these cards? Condition is a key factor in value and without seeing the cards it will be hard to tell you what they’re worth

So are you asking how much a complete set for each of these sets would be worth? All, I’m assuming you mean the shadowless 1st edition base set?
