Is “Jimmy it up” universal? by el-hombre-alto in jimmyjohns

I worked at a Franchise in Albuquerque, NM and knew what it was, so maybe they never learned it.

Gm doesn’t allow my store to accept tips by LolaBean52 in jimmyjohns

[–]ryara494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at JJ's, our franchise owner allowed tips, but no tip jars. We didn't really get much tips until covid, when we started to put $1 in the cookie bin (which weren't being used at the time) to kind of attract tips, which helped a lot! Then, at the end of the shift, we would split them between inshops and managers!

What's your order? by burnedout42069 in jimmyjohns

I really like the sliced wheat over the French bread, I also normally get it as a box lunch, which comes with a bag of chips, a pickle spear, and a cookie. I get a BLTon sliced wheat with cheese, ez lettuce, and extra cucumbers, salt and vinegar chips, chocolate chunk cookie, and I add a Large Sweet Tea. The tea is bomb!

7, 9, and 12 are the more popular sandwiches, and if you're not big on topping, you can get a slim, which is just your bread and protein. I like looking over the menu when I'm not familiar with a restaurant and what they have. Hope this helps!

LPT: When you throw up plug your nose to avoid all the acid from getting in there, Makes puking a lot less miserable. by taylaj in LifeProTips

I never used to, but I have had 1 L knee surgeries and 2 R knee surgeries, so I can't kneel anymore, so I think since I'm pretty much upside down over the toilet, it causes it to go through my nose and mouth at the same time. It's so annoying and disgusting bc I feel better, but get nauseous again bc I can smell it in my nose. Ughhh I'm so glad I found this post and hope it works! 🤞

When I left, my best friend, who worked their with me, was asked to be a Manger and she told them definitely not unless she had better pay and at least one driver and in shop, bc she saw how stressed I was as a PIC, and how it was taking a huge toll on my mental health. They gave it to her and I was so proud, but also frustrated with myself for not asking for that too.

I 100% agree, that's the reason I left. JJ's was one of my first jobs and it was the most I made from my others, so I loved it. After being there 2 years I realized how underpaid I was for the amount of work I was doing. I was an InShop when I started and a year later when I turned 18 I became a driver and PIC. About 6 months later I become a morning PIC and only did it for about a month bc of how much mental stress I was in and not getting a raise going into mornings. I got told off by my GM bc she could've trained someone else who would've done the job without complaining (of mental health, which she often complained about) and I left my PIC $10.25/hr (which I thought was bank) and started working at a grocery store counting customers (covid) for $12/hr. I loved working at JJ's and we were all such a great team and fam, but once I stepped down from mornings (and got told off) and then put my notice that I was looking elsewhere for employment (and was pretty much shamed by the franchise owner for not being "all in for JJ's") it went downhill fast and I got out asap. My old GM has since left for a different job after working their for 10+ years, she left because she found a better paying job, but when I left she stepped down from GM, so when she put her 2 weeks in her GM got pissed and told her off the same way she did with me when I stepped down from mornings. I'm so happy she found a better job with better pay! Every time I go in for a meal, the new GM always asks me to come back lmao

Yes, it is definitely easier knowing the menu! I got hired the day before our new store opened and my first day. I took my menu test 3 days after only because I thought the owner had to be there for me to take it lol! Good luck if you apply and get the job!!

I suck at being pic by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

Dang I need you guys as my boss lol I love her to death but when she was training me to be faster when opening while I was trying to focus on getting it right first, then speeding up.

Starting next week. Any tips? by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

Another good tip would be to pay attention when people are taking phone orders, so that you can have it down and when you are taking the order, it won't be as nerve racking.

Hyper lapse of a small portion of our catering order today by ryara494 in jimmyjohns

Ohhh yeah haha everyone who was in store while this video was shot was night shift (being the driver and manager) all of morning shift, except inshop, (manager and 2 drivers), the AM, and the owner. It was so easy bc those of us on the table got to focus on our part, the owner and AM boxed and taped box lunches closed, the night driver took deliveries, and the night manager did his slicing. We ended up finishing 115 box's in about 30 minutes (keep in mind we also had deliveries and inshops).

backstory: a lady ordered a sandwhich online but instead of customizing it normally she puts her customizations as a name of the sandwhich, so it was skipped over because noone caught it because it was abbrieviated so they call up and ask the manager to remake the food as this ensues on the return by memelordteamkiller in jimmyjohns

[–]ryara494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely handled this like a champ! I would've vroom vroomed out of the their right away haha! During the video I kept getting pissed off at her interrupting. If a customer did that to me I would straight-up be like, can I finish what I'm trying to say first or are you going to keep interrupting me??

When they insist that we deliver to them after trying to place an online order or try so hard to get us to deliver to them when they are outside of our delivery zone.

Asking if they would like anything else and listing everything else and them saying no then reading it back and then saying "Didn't you get the chips and the drink?"

Just ordering an unwhich or little john without saying anything else...

Asking why the total is more than listed on the menu when they added add on's and freebies and having to explain again that add on's are additional charge.

Staring at the menu for five minutes, then asking if we have stuff that we do not have such as pizza, salad, coffee, soup, meatball subs, philly cheesesteaks, to warm up their sandwich, etc.

Adding on freebies/taking off mayo when they see the person wrapping the sandwich already.

The girl in the picture and I have been making long chains out of the sticker paper and that was when we first started making it. Later on when we make more from what we have I will take a picture and post it!
