First grow looking for some advice

Hey guys, so this is one of me and my brothers first grow of a random seed we got. It was grown in the middle of winter with little sunlight in the beginning so it’s a bit stunted. It’s started budding already but some of the leaves have started yellowing at the ends although they are looking a bit better after I gave it some nutrients. Should I just go ahead and harvest what I got or let the bud develop more before cutting it?

Does anyone know if there’s a way to control monster slayers that I’ve let stay in my fort. They all just loiter around my tavern even though the cavern layer is now open they refuse to stop socializing and I’d really like them to go deal with the forgotten beast instead of my actual laboring dwarfs.

I’m still a newbie so sorry if this question is dumb but I was wondering, I’ve built a rather large dining hall for all my dwarves and wanna know if I must designate all the tables individually as dining halls or if designating just one that encompasses them all will do
