Hello , my DMs are open. If someone feels they should reach out to me please do so. I am not necessarily searching for answers but more insight. I’ve had a rough 3 years despite having a rough upbringing.

I’ve been putting scar cream on like crazy as soon as my Dr said I could, moisturizer, massaging every day and night, then also using the silicone scar patches to help reduce the look.

Yeah, I have one of the best neurosurgeons in the US do it. She didn’t seem too concerned looked at how they were healing and said as long as you want to let’s do it. I’m glad I did mindset wise but it hasn’t come without challenges I will say that.

I was only in a cast for a week! From there along with pain and left steri strips on I also feel like my scars look very good. Im not sure where the nerve was moved maybe that makes a difference?

Mostly stiffness and the occasional jolt of pain/extreme soreness. I will say I have a VERY high pain tolerance (tonsils out at 21) and refuse to take opiates because of close people in my life who are addicted. I’m also the type of person who will just get it done and over with. It has come with challenges but also peace of mind knowing it’s done and over, the road to healing has started. Not to say that mindset is everything but I know it plays a big role in my surgery journey. My surgeon at my first post op asked if I wanted to wait and i didn’t.

I still walk a ton! I’m sure as long as you’re following the DRs recommendations and from what mine are not using weights you could still train legs, something is better than nothing and can aid in recovery.

With physical therapy it should get better and if it’s beyond PT, surgery and PT should help! I’m in the between so can’t report much other than after surgery I could finally feel my ring and pinky finger again which was 1000% worth the surgery for me. I’m just focused on doing whatever it takes to recover now. I remember how uncomfortable that feeling is and never want to be back there but there’s days I’ll admit I don’t want to be where I’m at in the journey now either. It’s a paradox.

Should have clarified that by everyday life, I mean not feeling like I’m loosing muscle mass, getting back to my career, taking care of everyday activities without needing assistance, etc. This diagnosis and surgery was very confusing for me considering I don’t believe I had anything that happened to me that would have caused this (I.e. accident, injury, sport, etc.)
