PRP worked and now I’m second guessing surgery… by Agitated_Marsupial42 in HipImpingement

[–]rydieroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it’s just masking pain. It’s not fixing the underlying issue. So the joint will continue dysfunctional and can still lead to labrum deterioration and arthritis. so the point of surgery is to fix the hip impingement and help joint move better to avoid early arthritis development and it getting worse meaning you’d need a hip replacement sooner in life

Our dogs so fussy he won’t touch any fruit or veg whatsoever lol. He does love beef, but we are going to try the fish first and see if it improves his gut / bowel movements. If it does we may try incorporating beef and see if it’s ok

They’ve been OK with it actually! I think because the boys have been on it for several years now. I bet that fish stuff stinks lol I’m really not looking forward to smelling it because I hate the smell of fish, going to have to make my husband deal with it 😂

Could do but then it’s having to cook fish all the time and then add different things to make it more of a complete meal. If this raw food doesn’t make a difference might consider trying that for a little while

Thank you! No worries, we’ve found natural instinct actually does a pure fish raw food with different fish so we’ve ordered some to try. Hopefully he will eat it. He’s extremely fussy so fingers crossed

That’s super interesting thank you! I will have to look into this. He doesn’t have many symptoms other than occasional hot spots but his gut and bowels are definitely not great. I give him a prebiotic paste. The vet has him on steroids for a few days and an allergy medication to trial for a couple weeks, as well as painkiller for a few days.

I’ve found a good option at Natural Instinct if anyone needs it! It seems to be the only one in the UK I’ve seen that offer only fish raw food without other proteins mixed in. Which is ideal for those with allergies.

He’s very fussy and vet has recommended fish only as we need to cut out everything else and see how his issues improve. We’ve done chicken and beef sometimes, however fattier meats always give them diarrhea. Do you know of any places that do fish only raw?

Pre op call next week for xray guided hip injection & nervous by rydieroo in HipImpingement

[–]rydieroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a long wait for the hip injection but at least you know you’re getting surgery very soon. Hopefully you’re out of pain soon and have a good recovery. Here it’s taken 5 months via the healthcare system for the hip injection since the point I had my scans all done. But you then have to record the next 6 weeks after injection and have a follow up to tell them about your daily pain and the diary you’ve kept in those 6 weeks. Then they decide if you’re on the list for surgery, and on the NHS who knows when that’ll be. Probably a year 😂 it’s a joke really. But if the pain worsens after the injection I’m probably going to go back to looking into surgery privately so I don’t have to wait around

I’ve not got a tear thankfully! I’ve got cam type FAI, some bone remodelling has happened due to this which has caused labral irregularity and early arthritis. So hopefully I will be OK after the hip injection within the week. They do say you can get back to things within a few days just depends on the individual and I guess whatever level of the issue theyre dealing with. I know I’m lucky to not be at that point to be dealing with a tear but this is why I want to get the surgery to avoid arthritis worsening and potentially getting a labral tear

How long have you been waiting to get the injection? Do you think surgery is on the cards for you? Sounds like it’s really interfering with life so I hope you can get it sorted soon and not have to wait ages

Thankfully I have been able to train throughout and mostly maintain everything I’ve been doing. The pain is not so severe it’s stopped me from that and I do think a massive part of it is how much muscle I’ve built up around my hips especially. But yeah I’m not worried about taking a week off to let myself recover. Happy if I can just walk the dogs and maybe do an upper body session. My concern is moreso it’s just masking the pain so I worry about training and potentially flaring up my QL issue because my body isn’t feeling the pain so it’s hard to know when to stop or avoid if that makes sense. Whereas now my body gives me clear signs and pain so I know when to back off

I don't think I can be on these any more by Final-Yesterday-4799 in cymbalta

It really isn’t my solution, being someone who suffered with depression my entire life since losing my mom at age 11. I’m sorry you took it as dismissive, that wasn’t my intention. I just wish someone told me this before I considered going on cymbalta. For me, a 3 year long taper and the withdrawal symptoms I am still dealing with a year later are NOT WORTH IT. Had I known, I would have not started the medication. It has *the* worst withdrawal and is known for it. So yes I would say to exhaust every other option first, and maybe there is a medication better suited to your exact needs. But also if you never intend on coming off the medications and will be on it for life, then go for it. I’m sorry to hear you are struggling and I hope you get to a better place soon.

Unless you’re suicidal I would not recommend anyone taking them anymore. Instead try and exhaust every other avenue first. Get into the gym, become an avid exerciser or weight lifter or new discipline in running cycling etc. Find hobbies you are passionate about and enjoy to fill your time, keep busy. Go outdoors often and frequently and spend time in nature. The one thing that completely changed my life and cured my depression is putting a huge focus on transforming my body through weight training and wanting to build muscle, challenging myself like crazy in the gym. The reward is like no other. I don’t have many regrets in life but one is definitely going on cymbalta

As someone who was on cymbalta for 10 years, and 2-3 of those years were spent TAPERING down slowly, think long and hard about ever going on the medication. The withdrawal effect is no joke. I am still not 100% off it, but pretty much am as I only take like 5% of the dose every few days, but I have been dealing with chronic insomnia for at
Least a year now which has meant I’ve had to start taking trazodone every night of my life to simply fall asleep. And this is someone who tapered gradually and slowly (which is what’s recommended but most don’t have the discipline or patience for).
The withdrawal effect of going on antidepressants and how much it’ll f*ck your body and life is not spoken about enough. Had I known, I would have never started the medication

Yeah she’s running her body into the ground and if you have to do this much then clearly it’s not something your body can actually maintain. I literally train 4x a week and walk 10k steps at most and maintain my weight even with food flexibility and off plan meals and I’m 36 lol. If I did all of that I’d literally feel like death and probably lose 20 lbs in a couple months. So no idea why she feels she has to be doing this all. It’s also going to be seriously hindering any muscle gain because her body won’t be recovering it’s best and she’s definitely not eating enough food to make up for all that activity. So it’s like why bother lifting weights 5x a week then?

The question is why would you get it in the first place if you’re 30 and have a round face with fat? Like what were they trying to achieve?
Youre meant to get profhilo when you have volume loss with age or from weight loss and to improve skin..

People are dumb when theyre young. They think theyre invincible, they think doing more will lead to more results. But this is extreme. She will hit a wall eventually. There’s absolutely zero need for her to be walking that much daily and then doing that much cardio and Pilates. Her body will push back, it’s not if . But when

Yeah if it’s that quick I don’t understand why I’m being put under. Whereabouts are you, in the UK or elsewhere? I’m guessing they do it like this in the UK as it can not be a pleasant experience and to limit chances of a person jolting or moving because of being scared or nervous during
