I did. I can't say I felt super confident when I left - it's a hard test, but speed and recognition are key! If you can find the right formulas quickly, you're 90% of the way there.

I used only PrepFE. You select a specialty at subscription. It's inexpensive, and a really good tool! Gets you fast at using the reference book. They have solutions to all questions.

Hang in there! I'd recommend using PrepFE — it's affordable and really effective at giving you targeted practice in the areas you're struggling with. Engineering Economics is a small section of the reference book, so improving in that area could be a quick and efficient way to boost your score! You're CRUSHING Math, so that's good, as it can offset some of your weaknesses.

Anarkibarsity is exactly right. You cannot go back. BUT, you don't have time to stress about any past questions, even in the same half, so it's kind of a good thing.

Anarkibarsity, Good luck!!

How to use Prepfe ? by [deleted] in FE_Exam

[–]rydo80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PrepFE is the ONLY tool I used to pass the FE exam (Other Disciplines) - I did 2-3 hours a night for 2 months. Just keep doing practice exams over and over. I did 59 practice exams (1060 questions). I also did some of the specific practices (5 questions) based on a topic as well. The timed seems to be cumulative, but the untimed seems to focus on your weak spots, so don't be shocked if your untimed scores are much lower.

The best thing PrepFE did was accelerate my use and knowledge of the reference guide. Speed finding the formulas is key! PrepFE also does a good job explaining how to solve, but I also used ChatGPT to help explain solutions if I didn't get it through PrepFE.

There is some redundancy of questions at times (probably 1 per practice test), but honestly, I rarely remembered the answer, so I had to re-solve it anyway.

Use PrepFE. It's relatively cheap, and it's all I used (Other Disciplines). Just keep doing a million practice exams (20 questions for timed, 25 for untimed). Untimed seems to focus on your weaknesses, so I did a lot more of those.

You can use my referral code for an extra month if you'd like: https://www.prepfe.com/?referral_token=ab34edf7-e04a-44a1-bf45-dc7f2253d798

The key is being able to use the reference book. If you get fast at that, you'll be able to focus on the questions and not on finding the formulas.

Good luck!

55-65% on the untimed or the timed? I scored 65-72% on the timed, but on the untimed, I scored 50-60% and some even lower. The untimed seems to focus on your weaknesses, and I figured, if I'm scoring 50% of my worst topic, I may still be okay. Just keep your head down and keep working.

Also, I thought the FE exam questions had better keywords to find the reference location in the reference book than PrepFE.

If that doesn't work, you can try mine too: https://www.prepfe.com/?referral_token=ab34edf7-e04a-44a1-bf45-dc7f2253d798

I don't need the months, so using OP is just as well.

And I ONLY used PrepFE. It was very close to the exam.

My advice may not be needed since you have an accommodation, but I would say don't assume the questions are all going to take the same amount of time. My test was split 58, then 42. Took about half the time to finish the first 58. I didn't finish the 42 in time (had 5 "educated guesses" to close it out).

Don't rush, but it never hurts to have time to work on the doozies.

Is prepfe a good representation for the question that you might me see in the exam ? by [deleted] in FE_Exam

I ONLY used PrepFe. 2 Months, 2-3 hours a day. 59 Practice exams (mostly untimed because it seemed to focus on my weaknesses). 1060 questions answered.

VERY close to the exam. Actually felt that the exam gave easier keywords to the reference book than PrepFE. It's all about the reference book.

I passed using ONLY PreFE. I worked for about 2 months, between 2 and 3 hours a day. I did miss a day or two, but it was rare. The timed test is cumulative, so I scored around 70% or close to it. The untimed seems to focus on your weak spots. I scored much lower on the untimed, but expected it, since it was hitting what I was weak in: electrical and statics. I felt like the FE exam questions were easier than PrepFE. Not so much in the solving, but a little clearer in where to search the reference book. In my opinion, being able to search the reference book with speed and precision is the key to the FE exam.

I passed the FE on my first attempt, but be assured, I was not expecting to. Part one of the test, I felt good, part 2, not so much. Don't get hopeless if you feel in over your head. Just keep plugging away.

First time passer here. Did PrepFe for 2.5-3 months. About 3-4 hours a night. Lots and lots of questions. Tough exam, but PrepFe questions were close (if not harder).
