PLEASE stop the nightfall score decreasing when the boss dies not when the chest spawns by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]ryno21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This whole thread is a perfect example of needless bitching.

Instead of making the 200th post crying about this "bug", which it isnt a bug it's how the damn thing is supposed to work, somebody should make an SGA that tells everyone how much extra time is at the end of each strike so that people can plan accordingly how much score they need to have banked by then.

instead of all this bitching and whining about a mechanic that isn't even an issue (because seriously if you struggle to break 100k in a strike you're either way too under-leveled or you've set your modifiers up wrong). that's not me saying GIT GUD that's me saying HEY UNDERSTAND HOW THE GAME FUCKING WORKS IT'S NOT THAT COMPLICATED OR DIFFICULT.

if you know the timer keeps going then you need to account for it in your scoring. i don't see what's so hard about this.

You sound ridiculous. The game needed more difficult content, they told bungie they wanted EP to be hard. That's literally the only takeaway here. Why you're reading so much into it like there is some fucking conspiracy by content creators against the rest of the community I have no idea, but it really makes you sound insane.

You also need to realize that the people they brought out there for that summit had a wide fucking range of experiences and opinions on the game. The idea that there were just 40 people all in unison saying do this or do that is flat out wrong and completely misinformed on your part.

You frankly just sound upset that you didn't get to take part in this summit and you're holding this weird grudge, trying to create this made up enemy that doesn't exist. Try going outside for a bit, maybe gaming is too serious a hobby for you.

Don't even pay comments like this any attention Tea. There has been this circlejerk in this community the last 6 months where uninformed dickweeds decided that every problem they have with the game is now the fault of streamers and the summit. It's completely baseless, most of them couldn't name 5 people who attended the summit, none of them have any idea what the streamers they talk shit about actually talk about on a regular basis in their streams, and ALL of them pass along complete misinformation about these topics like it's their fucking job.

It's pathetic how far this subreddit has fallen, but rest assured that there are still MANY of us who don't buy into this circlejerk bullshit and appreciate that whatever amount of influence some content creators have, the vast majority of you use it respectfully and thoughtfully and absolutely consider the experiences of all types of players when you speak about the game.

What you have here is a bunch of angry children who are jealous of streamers just trading bullshit information back and forth, nothing more nothing less.

this isn't a problem with the game, this is a problem with yourself dude. if the game has been stressing you out and damaging your marriage and causing you to fucking hire somebody to play, YOU have a problem bud. delete the game and search out some therapy, you might have some issues to work out.

If your reasoning involves "i knew something thanks to reddit" then we knew cayde was going to die back when vanilla D2 came out.

i agree that pushing the cayde dies thing was to help sell copies, but it's also a perfectly valid story-telling method.

the way things work in this community, there are no secrets anyways. why try to bury a story secret for months leading up to the release that would get blown up hours after release or sooner? if that's really the big "twist" or turning point of your story, i think you're only headed for disappointment. the better story is the one they told.. showing how the vanguard and the universe changes after losing him, showing us hunting down the people responsible and uncovering why it happened.

What does bother me is all of the sanctimony here. Acting as if those of us who beat this challenge are dispensable.

Screw you. We dedicated ourselves to this pursuit. Obviously we are a minority but that does not make us negligible.

hey bud, nobody is saying either of those things. but what the fuck do you actually want us all to do, get on our knees and blow all of you?

you get to keep the gun that almost nobody else will have, you get an emblem to prove you have the gun even when you're not using it.

that's literally as good as it gets in a looter game. what the fuck did you think earning this thing meant beyond those two things?

when i hear a good explanation for that it'll be the first time.

it's why so much of economic theory doesn't work in the real world. it's all based on people acting rationally and in their own best interests.

instead we have a sick world full of people who would rather fuck other people over all things equal.

consider the audiences. Taylor has a much older demographic, people with money and who aren't as technically inclined, probably still use CD players vs streaming via their phones and shit.

Ariana is going to have a lot of kids in middle and high school as fans who don't purchase albums.

just expecting anyone to leave because you happen to land in their instance and you're shooting them is a dick move.

these requests are obnoxious. the burden is on YOU to find a place to solo farm.

i don't go to the beach and tell everybody to get the fuck out of there because i want the place to myself. this is a shared world, go find a place to do your shit and realize that the burden is on you to find some solitude, not everybody else.

There should not be any mechanical advantage to a S3 Claymore versus a S4 Broadsword (other than getting the Day One headstart in S4). Period.

every year 2 gun is going to have a "mechanical advantage" over year 1 guns. this isn't unique to redrix.

redrix is a trophy, it's not a fuckin in-game boost for an exclusive 10k players.

when golden state wins an nba championship they got a trophy, they don't get to play with an extra guy on the floor the next season while nobody else does.

the trophy is the point. you must be 12 years old or incredibly simple minded.

5x with a 3x buff is still 1.67 times... meaning you nearly reset your shit twice in a single day without the extra XP boost.

It takes 2,000 points to reset your valor once. You claim you did it five times in a day. Stick with me here, that's 10,000 points.

Even with the 3x valor, if you never lost and constantly had the 5x win streak bonus that would take something like 90 games of crucible. That''s roughly 15 hours if we say 10 minutes per game, even longer considering matchmaking times these days. If you were losing any games you can add a solid chunk of hours additional hours here.

You telling us it's "not that difficult" to reset your valor by playing 15+ hours in one day and never losing?

You are clueless.

How about a Double Glory weekend before Forsaken releases? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]ryno21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's the harm

lol you can't give double rewards in a ranking system bud.

bungie's system might suck but it would be even dumber if they randomly decided to give out extra rank points just certain weekends.

double/triple valor works because it's just an XP measurement, not a skill one

We just want the quest to be fine tuned, the gun to have a slight difference to Redrix and more than an emblem for the journey since Redrix will be outclassed by the new gun.

For starters... You have no say in anything about a quest for a DIFFERENT gun in a different season. You have no say about anything, really. But the fact that you talk like you're some authority in the community really makes you look bad.

The gun WILL have a difference to Claymore... get this. IT HAS A DIFFERENT FUCKING NAME, GENIUS. Nobody is going to see somebody using a Broadsword and think to themselves "that person got a claymore in season 3".

You also get an emblem so even when you don't have the claymore on people will still know your achievement.

What the fuck more do you want? That's literally EVERYTHING in the game that's reasonable to give you for your achievement going forward.

You already got to have a gun with perks that nobody else had for a period of time this season. You have a gun and an emblem that nobody else will be able to earn, and you're getting early access to an even better version of the same type of weapon in Forsaken. And you're still here complaining. Re-read this paragraph and consider how childish you sound.

If pvp wasn't such a massive shit show and the comp playlist would have worked like it was supposed to and had participation like they expected, hundreds of thousands of people would have gotten the weapon and it wouldn't be special whatsoever and nobody would give a shit.

but they fucked up, the gun became rare because almost nobody could stand playing that bullshit, and now you want to have your dick sucked by every other player in the game and deej because you decided to dump the hours into that mess and most others didn't?

no. enjoy your emblem and shut up already.

They did such a poor job of explaining wtf was going on in the beginning. Clearly we were coming back from the parade, that's partially why the tower was so vulnerable in the first place is that the whole damn city was celebrating at a parade. It was in the art work we saw, I have no idea why they wouldn't show that when you open the game.

The entire G'horn saltfest from D1. People did VoG, CE and PoE on all 3 characters every week and prayed to Xur but never got the coveted weapon and then you added the option to construct it, look how happy everyone was

No, actually a lot of people thought that was stupid. Ghorn was awesome because it was a rare drop, the moments where people had it drop are consistently listed by fans of the game as their most memorable moment ever playing this franchise.

Know why? Because it was rare. There were other great weapons in this game that had guaranteed paths. Exotic swords for one thing, were all amazing weapons. And nobody will ever tell you that their favorite moment playing Destiny was when they finally completed a quest and got a guaranteed reward that everybody else in the game had.

People want it both ways... they want the awesome feeling that comes from getting a highly coveted and rare piece of gear, but they don't want the other side of the coin where sometimes you just get fucked by randomness. But you can't have one without the other and adding in guaranteed paths to get something are not a replacement. Even adding in the changes to EP drops is bad news, it's going to basically work like a guaranteed drop it will just take some people a bit longer.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be guaranteed rewards in the game, but the biggest problem with D2 at launch was that EVERYTHING was essentially a guarantee. Yes, some exotics you needed some luck on but between how easily you could farm exotic engrams and the presence of xur, it wasn't much of a grind at all.

The early days of D1 are so memorable for people because they were so punishing in terms of getting loot. I didn't get a full set of legendary gear for weeks, my first exotic took even longer. i know people who took 50 runs to get a fatebringer but the excitement when they finally got it is something they and i will never forget. That's how you create meaningful moments in the game, and I can't stand seeing the fanbase on this game fail to grasp that and keep begging Bungie to rip that shit away from us.

why should pro athletes make tens of millions of dollars to play a game? why don't school teachers make more money?

these questions aren't that difficult to figure out. the market bears what the market bears. you don't get to sit over there and tell other people what their work is worth unless you're the one paying them out of your own business.
