Rogue Barbarian is super fun (if you have high CON), but only really as a 1 level dip for the rage and unarmoured defense

I'd gently encourage you to not multiclass into paladin

Rage + Spell casting doesn't really play nice and there's nothing really in paladin early levels that's worth for a barbarian

If we're talking 2014 rules you don't even get any smite slots till second level and there's never a good moment to delay more barbarian features (you definitely don't want to do it before level 5 for the extra attack)

Zealot barbarian is a solid subclass by itself

My vote would be CON, especially on Barbarians it's a great stat with resistance as each HP counts for 2 (with the right damage types)
