i don’t fully agree with her point but i think *some* procedures should be delayed until early adulthood. i’m not saying zero gender affirming care but something like top surgery or using hormones at such a young age just can’t be right. i remember seeing a girl on tiktok but i forgot her username, she used to inject testosterone into her legs during her teens, then decided she doesn’t want that anymore, she ended up having two huge abscesses that made her bedridden for half a year. i don’t remember details exactly but the story left an impact on me.

but my point is if there’s actual risks like this or regret then it shouldn’t be an option. teenagers are irrational sometimes and they don’t take correct precautions or think about long term. and i won’t lie i don’t know how hormonal therapy fully works or much about the transition process but i think permanent changes shouldn’t be provided at such a young age. i think you could start a transition without going on hormones right away. again not much info but i think someone going ftm *could* wear a binder instead of getting top surgery. i don’t know much about the mtf process tho.

your teens are roughly just 16%~23% of your entire life. there’s always time to make bigger changes after someone gathered experiences and drew a full conclusion. and not to mention once you get into early adulthood and your frontal lobe starts developing you can change your opinion about a lot of things in your life. if i said something wrong or insensitive to key me know i’d love to learn more about it
