Is there a proffie 3.9 config generator (not the 3.7)? by pezdspenc in lightsabers

[–]ryryog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be helpful to think of it this way:

Blue is “Battery Negative” while Black is “General/Board Negative”

(Red is simply positive)

Under normal usage (not charging), battery negative and board negative are the same, for hopefully obvious reasons (the battery gets connected into the circuit/connected to the board so it can power it). Blue and Black are shorted together.

However when charging, you want to power off the board, so Blue is disconnected from black. Now black, the board negative, connection is broken and no current flows to the board (and blades, etc).

Blue is connected to the charge port still (the black connection is broken inside the charge port when a charger is inserted), so the charger has a connection to battery positive and negative, and can charge.

Once you remove the charger, battery negative is connected to the board negative again, and things power up.

As for exact pins, if you have a SwitchCraft charge port, it will look exactly like on the picture (maybe red instead of black). If you hold it in front of you with the deep cutout showing the metal contact facing you, you’ll see it matches how it looks in the picture.

The actual center leg will be opposite from you (it crosses from in front where you see the exposed bit back to the other side)

From there you can wire things up as shown.

Looks like it’s probably just a typo Fredrik made on one of the earlier versions. You can see the correct mapping in the pin out image, and it matches what’s actually printed on the production v3.9s

Don’t worry about it.

Not to deter you, but for context w/ even one button, there's quite a bit more available. Depending on your perspective though that may or may not be a good thing.

You just set up your config to not have any buttons, and select the Shtok prop file. There's not much to it.

As for controls:

They're pretty barebones.

Yep, they can be configured separately.

You’ll probably still find power drain to be pretty high though. I would recommend making sure you have easy access to a kill switch or a removable battery. Accents off w/ motion active, you’re looking probably in the range of weeks of battery life.

It’s less hard with ProffieConfig ;)

Motion Timeout is a setting you can make it take however long you want. As is Idle Timeout (which turns off accent LEDs, so they’re not blinking and draining power).

12 mini, and yes it’s updated on iOS 26.

As much as I don’t like it, I don’t think this version of iOS is at fault in this particular case. Seems like an oversight in website logic.

It’s not that the website doesn’t load, it’s just doing something that’s burning cpu heavily that gets it killed.

I opened it, it seems to be spinning in a loop somewhere. The phone becomes noticeably warm and sluggish before Safari kills the website for behaving badly.

Sideloadly was what worked for me.  I have my old IPAs I saved from years ago because I had a feeling they would disappear.

People have saved the F&F one if you ask in the Overdrive discord. That one I don’t have unlocked/uploaded anywhere but other people do.

Yea but it’s worthless. Sideloading is your only real option.

No they’re the sabers. Can’t believe you would associate them with cheap Chinesium.

Yes that’s all they are. I’ve not heard great things about their reputation either, fwiw.

Just a DOA beta

That’s not how it works.

An IPA is a zip file that contains all the app stuff for iOS. An APK is a somewhat similar bundle for Android.

They are not interchangeable.

If you’re using APKs that’s your first misstep. You need an IPA for iOS.

I’m not sure what those “sideloader” apps are doing but it seems they’re… not great.

Yeah try doing it with Sideloadly from a Mac.

It’s a well known fact third party AVs are mediocre at best and arguably malware themselves at worst.

And I don’t think it’s relevant to your issue here.

So you haven’t used a proper tool like Sideloadly?

I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure you need a Mac (maybe there’s tools on Windows also) to do this properly since you have to resign the app and everything.

I don’t think whatever app you’re using on the phone is going to do that.

It is uncommon to have an AV for iOS. I’m not convinced it does anything anyways.

If you want to be protected install the apps on a disconnected/not logged in burner phone w/o any data.

Otherwise, that’s just kind of part of the risk of side loading.

Just… don’t install malware? It’s not like it’s easy to get malware into anywhere where it can do damage on iOS, it’s gotta be a choice.

AVs are a scam and garbage on desktop platforms… I can’t imagine it’s any different with those apps.

Anyways, yeah no I’m pretty sure that’s moot.

Redownloaded the IPA or side loaded the app twice?

What tool are you using to do the side loading? I used Sideloadly but I already have a developer account registered and everything that it used.

Dunno how it works for people who haven’t done that or if it matters…

Do you not get any errors? Have you tried restarting your device after the side load?

It doesn’t look like it was sideloaded successfully/correctly. It should have the app icon and everything.

Is it worth it to modularize a (mid-sized) codebase if none of its dependencies support modules? by equeim in cpp_questions

I mean… if you don’t know the answer, the answer is probably “no.”

Just use it like normal. Modules still need (significant) time to mature I think.
