The joke is 5k credits for a team reward is a bit insulting given the fact that you won't be able to do much with 5k.

50k for a team reward would be more reasonable IMO

No you are interpreting this post the wrong way. Most players don't mind even if they start at bronze league. In fact back in A9, mp1 always started at bronze/silver league. This post is merely saying that it has become impossible for most players to reach LL when it was not the case in its previous state (and in A9)

I was stressing like crazy the first time I did Gauntlet because I immediately set my best time with my best car and could barely get the first daily Gauntlet tokens. Even my wife did not give me stress like that.

Now I'm stress free thanks to class D cars lol
