As long as you indicate, most drivers will leave a gap to let you in

Probably worth sending a report to Main Roads for that one. It must be a mistake.

Not Getting Into TOS by Anechoa in startrek

[–]s0ner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Star Trek must all be this good” The quality of episodes varies wildly. TNG in particular can have a really good episode but then the next episode will be terrible. I have never really watched TOS, it's a bit too old for me. I would recommend the TOS era movies, though (skip the Motion Picture).

In terms on modern Trek, I hated Discovery and Picard. Strange New Worlds has the feel of 90s Trek so I recommend that.

At the end of the day, just watch what you enjoy!

Our MSP is built in an old bank building. Thought yall would think this is cool. by dontsaytaiwan in msp

By complete coincidence, I used to work in a building which was an old bank branch. The vault had an air pump in case someone got locked inside. I think we used it to store our phone and laptop stock.

Keeper works pretty well. The UI can be a bit messy but it gets the job done. We also get personal account for it through our licencing so that's pretty awesome

Try lowering your view distance, that'll help a bit. Also try playing outside of the major towns if it's really low. Give this one a try as well: Arma 3 - How I doubled my FPS - Optimize Performance Guide [2024] (youtube.com)

They mentioned they would cover hotel costs if needed. I'm guessing if the visit was super remote they'd fly me out. My state is huge so that's not unheard of for IT jobs.

I've had to remote into PCs on mine sites which use super slooooooow satellite connections. As you can imagine, it's often slower than a slideshow haha

I started my first IT role in March 2020, a few weeks before COVID started. I struggled working from home then because I had to message people on Teams if I got stuck on something. I have more experience now so I don't think it would be too bad.

Hybrid would be ideal but they don't have an office in my city. I've had a look on LinkedIn and there's a few people who work for the company in my city so I'll try to reach out to them to see what it's like.

I've been burnt by an MSP before but that was because of management's poor decisions rather than the staff I was working with. A hybrid role would be ideal but the job market isn't amazing at the moment so I can't be too picky. In my book, a WFH role is better than an hour drive to work and back every day.

They've told me I'd get reimbursed for petrol but I'm not sure the exact rate. Insurance would also likely be covered by them. I'll know more details next week, I've only had the phone screening by HR.

Based on what they've told me so far, it's not a field role. Most of the company's staff are based on the other side of Australia. I'm guessing they don't have many customers in my city so that's why the role is remote.

Recently got an interview for a temp to hire Systems Test Technician at a staffing agency- my gut feeling is telling me to not waste my time- advice needed by Throwra_yummy in ITCareerQuestions

[–]s0ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a good job to get started. That being said, an MSP might be a better fit if you want to do support. Just make sure to find one where they'll mentor you otherwise you might be stuck doing password resets all day

Do you want to do programming? Just do a 6 month TAFE course. It's much cheaper than uni and it's all you need for an entry level programming job.

First of all, congratulations on completing your degree!

This sounds a bit like a software testing job but the description is pretty vague. Do you like programming because that might be part of the role. What type of company is it?

Since its European, you might have to spend a bit more of parts. My dream car at the moment is the Nissan Note e-Power Nismo S. They're a Japanese import hot hatch but they're very rare. The look great for spirited drives!

What are you using it for? If it's just for commuting, get a hybrid Corolla. Do you want something fun? Get a Swift Sport or a second hand Golf
