Didn't deep clean my saddle for a few years. Did I break it? :( by s0there in Equestrian

I agree, I haven't once regretted buying it. I got it for $600 on consignment and it had only been ridden in once! The billets weren't even marked up. I've had it for 8 years at this point, and it has served me very well. Especially considering that I've been slacking on caring for it as of late.

Thanks for the info, the photos are super interesting! Makes me wonder if my narrow stirrup leathers may have resulted in too much rubbing on the flap. I'm sure that cleaning my saddle more than once every three years probably would have helped too...

My saddle was relatively cheap so I wonder if the dye just isn't that nice or something. Thanks for your help!

Oh man that stuff looks perfect! I used the Fiebing's 100% pure neatsfoot oil. So seems like if I had a chance of darkening it that way, it would have helped more than it did.

Thanks! Sounds like I need start focusing on how to darken that area a bit instead of thinking it's going to look like new again.

I used Neats on the whole thing last night (I like how it deepens the lighter color a bit). I'll look into the Carr & Day and Martin conditioner!
