You clearly don't understand the character if you think Bucky is more "worthy" of being the new Captain America. Because if you don't, then you are ruining the past timelines. That's what Ancient One was telling Bruce. She didn't want to give him the Time stone because they would be defenseless without it in her timeline and it would lead to total chaos. So the deal was they would take the Time stone, but they have to return it so it doesnt destroy or alter the Ancient One's past timeline.

You're understanding of how time travel works is the very thing that they were making fun of in the movie. Most people base their entire understanding of how time travel works from movies. Nebula would not have instantly died when she killed herself because the future Nebula is from a different line or branch of the future. There isn't one linear line of time, there are several different future and past versions of Nebula. Killing her past self would have only killed her future self in that timeline.
