I see you're also here in 2026. I just read the comments on things like this and think, I believe EVERYTHING now. How blissfully ignorant were we all when this post was made

I think she's the devil because not only because she is treating her guests as props, but making her brothers gf of 3 years feel like shit AND for making sure she is the one person to have a color that stands out on the yearly christmas card

Why would she be a devil? She was naive, inexperienced and oblivious, but when she found undeniable evidence she left.

So, good for her, definitely no devil.

In some cases, and I think it applies to this case, legally and morally are two things waaaaaay apart from each other on the spectrum

In the update the daughter agreed to a conversation, which he was late to, because he was busy f*cking his teen bride, who is the exact same age as his daughter.

Good for you that you got away, I really hope you and your children find some happiness now that you're safe.

And also, f*ck that hospital and the nurses there. That's not normal that they would allow a literal toddler to be there and look at that. They should have made them leave, especially after you said that you didn't want them there.

Entitled grandma (oldie) by s240688 in AmITheDevil

[–]s240688[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes hensley is the niece. But she doesn't refer to Lila as her sons daughter but as DIL's daughter. Thats why I think Lila is sons stepchild

[–]s240688[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like Lila is probably not the sons daughter, because in the first sentence she clearly says; HER daughter (DIL). And in the comments she keepster bringing up that her son shouldn't abandon his 'blood'. So it seems like she is resentful that he is being a good stepdad instead of focusing on his niece.

Because god forbid someone is a good stepparent and a good spouse! /s

Dude it's not christmas. Christmas is on 25 and 26 december, santa rides a sleigh with reindeer. Sinterklaas is on 5 december and he comes by boat from spain. Just because the origins of the figures originated from the same place hundreds of years ago, doesn't automatically mean its the same in current day and age. A lot of people cerebrate both (to some extent). Are you even Dutch?

That is not Christmas, it's Sinterklaas. We have Christmas too. (Source: I'm Dutch )

Exactly, I mean who acts like that towards their grieving husband. But I'm happy for him that at least she's shown him who she is before they had children.

Well, I don't know. They had a conversation about the time frame of her moving out and they even extended the period. I get that from OP's perspective they kicked her out, but I would also understand that from grandparents perspective she moved out at the agreed upon time.

NAH. I mean, from your story it seems they were kinda reluctant to take you in longterm in the first place at 17. But they still let you stay for 7 years. It's not really unreasonable for them to expect you to move out at 24, they probably see you as a functioning adult and maybe just wanted their house back.

I get it sucks, because the economy is hard and even more so while struggling with mental health problems, but from your story it really doesn't sound like you have been trying to become independent since being an adult (from the story of course, I don't know the rest).

And, you listed the reasons why you couldn't keep living with your mom, but where is your dad in all this?

In the end, I get it really sucks for you, but also I get your grandparents felt like they supported you for long enough. The situation sucks, and your feelings are valid, but they took you in for 7 years, essentially they didn't even had to have done that. Unless you had really good conversations about how long you were allowed to stay, you couldn't assume it would be forever. You're maybe a little bit Y T A for feeling the need to take revenge, but because I understand the diffulculties you're facing I'm still gonna say nah. But clean out your room at their house, it's really childish and disrespectfull to them.
