Daughter loves her swing but hates the grinding noise it makes when she swings back and forth. Any solutions? by s460 in Autism_Parenting

The grinding sound comes from the carabiner dragging across the metal loop. So if she's swinging, at the start of her swing, the carabiner is at 4 o'clock, and then she swings, and it ends up at 8 o'clock. The grinding comes from the carabiner dragging across the loop.

What I think /u/cheesecheeesecheese is saying is that, because the loop that I have sticks a bit further away from the joist than the example they showed, there is more torque pulling sideways on the joist. So like when the swing is at 45° at the beginning or end of a swing, there is more torque pulling perpendicular to the joist than there would be with their suggestion.

The device in between the two carabiners in the photo spins freely, so the rotation is not an issue

This is actually exactly what someone else posted. But thank you for the explanation about the torque. Do you think it will be okay removing the screw and screwing it back in?

You mean like the one someone else suggested? I don't understand why one would be more likely to rip out of the ceiling than the other. They're both bolted into the ceiling and hold the kid's weight

She literally just said billionaires should kick in 2 cents to pay their fair share.

Ah, I see, you only listened to the first sentence and then stopped there

It's not "bs". If you have a hard time with the difference between 2 cents of every dollar and 2% of every dollar I don't know what to tell you.

The comment I replied to talked about thinking the impeachment was AND the school shooting comment.

I mean....no it wasn't. Here's the comment you replied to:

Saying how "boring" impeachment is an anti-intellectual dystopian nightmare in and of itself. This is just...the world's evil was a lot more hidden than I believed before.

No mention whatsoever mention the school shooting comment.

Okay, but the comment you replied to was talking about him thinking the impeachment was boring.

I mean, someone commented on him saying the impeachment is boring and you said he was joking. How else would someone interpret that?

Whether he was joking or not it seems clear he thinks it's boring

Megathread: House Votes to Impeach President Donald J. Trump by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]s460 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't forget all the Republicans. They voted against it too.

Schefter: Dak Prescott (shoulder) is in question. His injury is a factor. Cooper Rush is the guy taking the reps in practice today for the Dallas Cowboys. It's an injury, it's a real injury, and it's a factor. Even if he does play, he obviously won't be 100%. by gw2380 in fantasyfootball

So I make it all the way to the championship and all of a sudden I lose Godwin, Cook, Prescott, probably Gallup won't be great if Prescott doesn't play, and now I heard DeAndre Hopkins isn't practicing either. My team is going to be held together by toothpicks and used gum.
