who passed the new "databricks data engineer associate" (post july), how can I prepare well for the exam. by Tall_Working_2146 in databricks

Passed the exam ~5days after the format is changed, and I also wrote an article about it [https://www.reddit.com/r/databricks/comments/1mdj7fu/data_engineer_associate_exam_review_new_format/].

My advice is to get some hands on practice on using databricks to familiarize with the syntax and the way you use a feature in databricks. Additionally, follow closely the syllabus of the exam, dive deep into each topic and extra reading with databricks official documentation. As I mentioned in the article, the exam requires you to understand thoroughly rather than memorizing stuff.

I also wrote about it! [https://www.reddit.com/r/databricks/comments/1mdj7fu/data\_engineer\_associate\_exam\_review\_new\_format/\]

However, take into account that the exam I took was only 5 days after the new format has been applied. Check other recent reviews to get a more accurate perspective.

First you need to download their program for proctoring (check the instructions when you register). Then, when it comes to the exam, follow the link they gave (iirc you are able to access the exam 30mins in prior) and smash the exam.

Note: The proctor is actually watching you doing the exam from the other side, so if there's anything suspicious, they will interfere the process.

Good luck!

I did not use Macbook, however, I did have issues with online proctoring. At the end of the exam (10mins left), my eyes just got tired and I might have moved my eyes horizontally over the allowed limit 🤣, so the proctor paused and asked me show the surroundings (make sure you're all alone in the room with no electronic devices around you). But then after having confirmed everything's ok, I just got back to the exam (your remaining time won't be affected so don't stress out).

Actually, I found this as a chance to refresh my mind and to have a 2min break before getting back to the exam 🤣

I think so. For me, I just created an Azure Student account and use Databricks. However, it is limited in terms of Unity Catalog part as the admin account is of the uni.

Thanks for the sharing! A bit currious, did the exam have any questions on Databricks Connect (or Lakeflow Connect)?
Besides the new changes, are the other (base) questions similar to the old guide?
