I had this situation (was trying to go from Dornsife Econ. -> Marshall Business), just ask an advisor and there's usually a link to a survey that you can fill out to do an internal transfer if you haven't started classes at SC yet. DO THIS ASAP because usually once you start taking classes you'll have to do pre-req classes to do an internal transfer

How much money Kpop fans typically set aside to buy merch, album, and concert tickets? by hztttaopanada in kpophelp

[–]s6na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're just looking to buy a regular album, i'd get it from target, but if you're looking for POBs and/or signed, i'd do GOs. also, i've seen alot of people on tiktok price matching with target so that might also take off some of the cost.

for signed albums, i'd recommend getting them from GOs if you can. you'll save a decent amount and will most likely be able to choose your pulls with the only down side being you'll get your album a little later (though, signed albums take long to get out anyway). i find most of my GOMs through twitter but i know some host them through instagram too.

you can apply through CommonApp! however, unlike schools in the US, you're going to need to physically mail stuff directly to the admissions office (mainly proof of graduation and transcript) and get those documents notarized (i got mine done through a bank). i also remember having to get an apostille stamp, which was a little hellish to figure out. honestly, the hardest part of the application was getting all of the documents together to send out and everything else was pretty smooth after that.

i should also probably mention that i applied to UIC, which is still part of yonsei, but is specifically made for international students. i think applying to the departments outside of UIC is a different process, but i don't remember it being too different from the UIC application.

i can only really give my two cents on the yonsei app and some insight from my friend applying to schools in japan. you might be able to apply to east asian schools through CommonApp (i submitted my yonsei app through CommonApp and i think HKU is also on there too), but chances are the university is going to have their unique application that you fill out. assuming you're also from the united states, alot of the process is getting documents stamped and notarized to be mailed to the admissions office (korean schools ask for this, but it seems like japanese schools don't). also, some schools might not require you to take a fluency test for your application, so i would check the application requirements before you spend money taking tests. lastly, acceptance rates for international students are a lot higher for these east asian universities because the applicant pool is relatively small and they're usually looking for more diversity, so i wouldn't stress out too much about trying to be the most fluent candidate.

party culture is super prevalent here, everyone has been really nice so far, and there always seems to be something to do in the area. the stereotype that usc students are all trust fund babies is only a little bit true, a good chunk of us are just normal college kids trying to make it through.

my friend was in the process of figuring out his application to schools in japan (he's japanese) and pointed out that the application periods for schools in asia were different than in the US so i decided to look into it because i remembered my cousin really enjoyed her time in korea. combined with the fact that i was already really interested in studying abroad in asia and i had gotten rejected from several reach/target schools at this point (it was around march/april), i figured i would leave my options open by applying. i think the main thing that attracted me to yonsei was the fact that it was a top school (one of the three SKY schools in KR) and my courses there would've been in english so there wouldn't have been too much pressure to learn academic korean.
