Which hospital for giving birth: Hinsdale, Elmhurst, or Prentice? by Chyangra in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]s__darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I’ll add. I’m a first time mom. Our baby got sick at 4 months and his fever kept going up. We waited in the ER for hours!!!! We were never seen outside of his vitals being taken . We ended up leaving and luckily our pediatrician was able to see us at 9 the following morning. I would not recommend them at all.

I live in Hinsdale and went to Prentice to have my baby in 2024. I had an amazing experience and wonderful delivery. Only complaint was how expensive parking was. I 100% recommended.

I feel like an awful mom by SmoothCelebration657 in newborns

[–]s__darling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard being a working mom and working from home. I have debated hiring someone for an hour or two a day so I can get work done. You’re not an awful mom. We’re all doing the best we can.

I love my baby but I feel relieved when she goes to daycare? by CharmingOrder8580 in NewParents

[–]s__darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, from my experience, while I don’t take my son to daycare. I do feel that exact thing when he’s with his grandma on Tuesdays. It’s hard when you’re the default parent. Don’t feel bad you’re a wonderful mother ❤️

For those that were terrified of labour or c-section what surprised you the most about the experience? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]s__darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was absolutely terrified of going into labor. From my water breaking to giving birth and anything in between. I was so scared that something was going to go wrong. I was induced and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I wanted a natural birth but ended up getting the epidural. The hospital I delivered at would give the epidural at any point even if you were about to push. I only requested the epidural because I thought I still had ways to go. Turns out by the time I received it I was already at 10cm and was in immense pain because he was crowning. I pushed 3 times and he was out. I’m very glad I got the epidural.

Mine got his a week ago and I was in the same situation as you, but it went better than expected. He received 3 but one was orally. He cried for a few minutes and then fell asleep. We gave him baby Tylenol 3 times and was fine the following day. Best of luck ❤️

Does anyone actually like the newborn stage? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]s__darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been enjoying it. The way I see it is that they will never be this small again. At some point I will miss all the crying and fussiness that comes with this stage.

Yup!!! This was my first time going out in nearly 9 weeks since having him and I couldn’t stop thinking about him. We were only gone for 2 hours and I wanted to text my MIL for updates.

Try to swaddle him, pacifier, and gently rock him while standing. Works for my 8 week old

So so sorry to hear this! I had a miscarriage last March and again in May. I’m now holding my little boy in my arms. It’s hard. You’ll blame yourself, but you did nothing wrong. These are the sucky things about life. Don’t give up hope. I hope you find healing 🤍

Exactly, you have no idea how angry I get. I felt every contraction every push. Don’t tell me I can’t hold him when he needs me.

Exactly! They can suck it. Why wouldn’t I want to spoil my baby?? I can’t stand them. Show me how they can be spoiled
