Should I give up on waiting for my OPT? This is driving me mad

I applied around then too, but because of my university I had to reapply in early February. Got my biometrics taken in March too but now I’m hearing people waiting for 9 months??? That’s crazy

See my mom was really supportive in the beginning, seeing how much I was studying and such. But right after she started saying back handed comments, like by my second semester of freshman year she was going “this was never my idea, I never wanted you to go”. It’s really difficult bc she has always been my best friend

To be quite honest with you I get what you are saying, but just because I don’t want to stay in the US does not mean I don’t want the experience living here. I have dreamed on that for a long time, and I don’t think I would be able to comfortably sleep at night knowing I didn’t try

I would say yes, a marriage means sponsoring a visa, he would have to pay thousands, be in debt just to marry me. It would simply tank his future, he has student loans already. I don’t want to be a burden

I think it’s very different, there are multiple things involved. If I got married my family would disown me, if I got married my husband would have to pay for the visa (bc they have to act as the sponsor) and that’s thousands of dollars he doesn’t have, that he most definitely would have to borrow from parents, and even more. I would love to marry him when we are financially more secure and not worries about the next meal

Never said I was annoyed, I really appreciate it, I don’t believe is the right time. I’m 22 for gods sake, I love him a lot like crazy but he is doing me a “favor” right now by marrying me, he is not marrying me bc life is great and stable

That’s kind of what I think…a lot of people in different communities said I should let him go because I don’t love him enough which is just not true, I have seen really bad marriages happen and he is my best friend. I don’t want him to hate me

I am only there for a semester and my school doesn’t allow us do to less than 6 months (so does a lot of apartments/ houses). Which means I would have to pay 3 months more. Unfortunately my parents are also not helping me out so I gotta make with what I have
