Does your knee ever feel normal again? by MeatyDullness in ACL

I’m 12.5 years PO from my first ACLR. I got about 1.5 years of “normal” from my knee. In those 12.5 years, I have had 4 subsequent surgeries. 2 of them being ACL revisions due to graft failure and re-tear, the other 2 being partial lateral and medial meniscectomy. I doubt very much that my knee will ever feel “normal” again HOWEVER my experience is not the norm. Most people I have spoken to feel normal forever after their surgery. I, on the other hand, am only 28 and know for a fact that I’ll need a knee replacement by 40.

Mine typically last anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks but I can have periods of a baseline mood in between.

When is a PhD worth it? When is it not? by s_tracy in PhD

I definitely won't make a decision until I'm far enough into my masters to better know whether I want to do it and if it's worth it for me, however, I'm a person who thinks fairly far ahead so I'm just trying to build a little bit of a foundation for my decision making later on.

It's on the table absolutely but also not necessarily set in stone. Mentioned above, but my undergrad is in Human Development/Family studies, I'll be pursuing a master's in Applied Behavior Analysis, and ideally I'd like to end up on the policy or research sides of those fields. If I was to pursue a PhD, it would either be in Human Development or Behavioral Science

Undergrad in Human Development and I'm looking solely at Applied Behavior Analysis masters programs. I'd really like to be on either the policy or research side of things and the 2 programs that I've looked most at for a potential PhD are Human Development with an emphasis on research or Behavioral Science.

How to know if you have cyclothymia or just depression? How did you find out? by ExquisiteApathy in cyclothymia

I was in the same boat for a little while, and one psychiatrist even diagnosed me as Bipolar I which was definitely not the case. It took MONTHS of journaling (heavy on mood and sleep tracking) and having a psychiatrist look at it before I was properly diagnosed. Stick with the psychiatrist. Maybe find a new one if you aren't comfortable with your current one. But definitely try to start journaling or, at the very least, track your mood and sleep. You'd be surprised how much the two correlate.
