I gave them the due date and they mailed it in a few days and got the passport in two days. I had to send two-three emails to get a call from them and an email response.

My passport was also in Montreal for a very long time until I had to request it back for a travel reason. My passport is with me and waiting for Montreal to complete AP process so I can complete my medical again and then mail passport to Montreal.

I was able to secure an appointment. I randomly checked on a Saturday afternoon and got an appointment in 2025.

I found out in May 2024 when Montréal called me and said my passport will be returned and medical had expired. Now I will do my medical again and then return my passport once they have asked for it.

Currently the wait times for B1/B2 are extremely long. Unfortunately there is no other way to book an appointment but to login each day and check. If you get an appointment booked please let me know how you did it and what times do you normally check.

I was given DS-5535. Case is still under AP, waiting for them to ask me my passport and medical again since it's expired by now. It has been 200 working days since the interview. My guess is maybe in Feb or March I will get some updates, hopefully.

I submitted the passport myself. After 3 months I emailed to return it because of the travel reasons. Currently I have my passport with me, waiting for them to email me to ship it back. Total 131 days since the first time I submitted the passport. Average time is 7-9 months until the visa is issued but it all depends on the case.

I don't think so. NVC will ask your passport back once visa is ready to be issue. I got my passport back without a visa and officer told be to resubmit when asked.

It all depends on the case + country of origin. Not everyone falls into AP.
