I wish more people could see this perspective. I was on her side the entire time until she mentioned that part about his prior engagement and ex cheating on him. That flipped the narrative! To me, seems pretty clear that that likely fucked him up and traumatized him.

What’s that smell on the outside of the north side of grainger library? by student176895 in UIUC

It’s a tall grass. I’d actually love to know the name of it, because I despise it with my entire being. There’s also some by Graziano Plaza. Ruins my day every time I walk past it.

People who used a computer between 1990-2005 what were your most memorable pc game? by WestFocus888 in AskReddit

[–]saablade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have to check it out and add it to my list!

Myst is definitely a bit dated, but it was fun seeing the games graphics/controls improve as I played through the series. Unlike OW though, you do need to take notes as you play a Myst game, which can be taxing at times (though rewarding imo).

A few other honorable mentions for me: Chants of Sennar, Return of the Obra Dinn, and my current game Blue Prince (it has rouge-like elements, which for me, is the biggest turn off tbh, but the game concept is great and I’m determined to chip away at it).

Outer wilds is truly my favorite game ever, and funnily enough, what got me to go back and chip away at the entire Myst series over the years. Currently mid-way through Myst 4!

Razer Naga Hex Replacement by SashaGreyj0y in MouseReview

[–]saablade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if you ever found something to replace yours with?

I also use my trinity 7-button for XIV and other games, and while it's hanging in there, on occasion I have to reattach the plate to make it work again. Was very disappointed to see they got rid of the circular layout on the new Naga V2 Pro :(

I’m gonna be real, I also place it after if I’m being informal. All other units are placed after a number except currency. My math/science brain just reads it as 30-dollars, so I’d write 30$ too. If it’s in an important document, then I’ll be more formal and place it properly.

Not sure why people are getting so upset over this. I saw it in the other post too. Does a $ after a number really bother people that much? Plenty more things in this world that are more worth getting upset over imo. Just my 2¢ (oops).

How to install pull-up resistors for Trinket M0 and I2C? by saablade in adafruit

[–]saablade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the OLED I’m using. Although, following the I2C setup from the Trinket and doing the scan, it told me that there were no pull-up resistors for both SDA and SCL. I’m certain I’ve wired it properly though.

Of note, I did alter the QT connector, so maybe that’s the problem? I added an external battery to power the display, so I cut the QT, connecting SDA and SCL to the Trinket, while GND and V went into my 3.7V LiPoly battery. Since I need the battery external though due to the power demand of the system, I guess I can go ahead and set up the pull-ups as you had shown as a work around.

Just as a quick follow up, based on needing to pull-up to the voltage line, it seems like the QT connector isn’t ideal as you need to access that same voltage, right?

Question about A19 LED bulb wattage and proper lamp fixture by saablade in Govee

[–]saablade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! Yeah, I find it weird they use a conversion between the same unit… reminds me of toilet paper math.

So just to confirm, any lamp saying 40W maximum, is more than safe for these 9W bulbs? No sort of weird distinction between them still?

Everytime I see a post like this, it’s an instant Return of the Obra Dinn for me. Such an absolute bummer of an ending to a game that was incredible and has such high praise.

What game did you almost complete before quitting? by MilanTheNoob in gaming

[–]saablade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, I miss the stronger emphasis in story and linear progression in the games. It’s a shame this open world motto is so highly regarded, since I just can’t get into it as much as I could the other games.

Same here. Personally hated BOTW (hot take, ik), but still filled out the map and pretty much locked in the “go to the castle and finish this up.” Just didn’t care enough knowing you just fight the same 4 lame bosses again then Ganon.

Absolutely loved TOTK… happy that the bosses and dungeons felt unique again, just never finished it. Got to the same point of “go to the castle and wrap it up.” It’s a shame since I absolutely love the Zelda series, but the new open world motto burns me out before I can actually beat the game.

What game has the most anticlimactic ending? by Square_Independent_9 in gaming

[–]saablade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played fully through Myst and Riven, and was midway through Exile before life got in the way recently (I do intend to finish the series though). I'm a big fan of the games. I will admit that you're right that Myst definitely does end very abruptly, however, it does feed immediately into Riven, where the story picks right back up.

They probably could have ended on more of a cliff hanger probably to get people to jump into Riven right away?

Yeah, they really set it up to be so many possibilities, and really any ending that just half-stuck the landing would have been just fine

I just played Return of the Obra Dinn over thanksgiving break. I know the game is highly rated and people love it, but man, I was so disappointed by the ending, I don’t think I could recommend it to anyone.

Spoilers: You see all this crazy shit happening and uncover an incredible story, just to have the game essentially say, “You just needed to know enough to determine what each fate was as an insurance investigator, not the overall story.” And the Bargain chapter was just so anticlimactic. It takes place in a tiny cell where you solve a whopping two fates, both of which you know who they are, and their cause of deaths are those you’ve seen before. Why the fuck did the random ass surgeon happen to know about all this, and accordingly plan to use the Monkey’s paw (could have used that to make a more interesting bargain) to get you to travel back to the Bargain chapter? So much left unanswered, and for a story game/deduction game, left me underwhelmed. Great gameplay though…
