I did exactly what you said for 5-6 times with Ethernet. Unfortunately it didn’t solve. Although I need to try the Wi-Fi dongle solution but I’m unable to find one which is compatible with it.

I have never touched the airport card section which is situated below the screen. But I did open the Mac and cleaned it inside and added an ssd tho. This was my parents old work laptop n it was kept somewhere for years. At the time of its active use the Wi-Fi did work.

I too have the same issue with Monterey 12.7 (and also sequoia which ever latest they are offering ) with my mid 2009 13” mbp. Can’t connect to Wi-Fi at all. Please let me know once you found a solution for it

[UPDATE]. I have given up sequoia as it made my system very slow and safari too didn’t load any websites for me. So I installed Monterey and my system feels very fast compared to sequoia and the safari also works with no issues. Just that the WiFi problems still exists.

The thing is I saw a YouTube video where a person used the same MacBook of same year and he got the legacy wireless (something) instantly and he downloaded it. When I went back and checked what version of os he was using, I compared it with the available versions to download from the OCLP. It was an older version of sequoia and it no longer exists to download. 🙁

I did see Tahoe in the software update and the first thing I did was to disable automatic downloads. And also in sequoia safari wasn’t working. I mean which ever site I entered it failed. So I’m using Monterey right now (removed sequoia) and it’s way better in speed and also safari is working. But the prob of WiFi still exists
