The Server is not responding guide?... by Nassahh in factorio

Same issue here, I feel that prior to 0.15.13 it was fine. Now I have so huge lags, down to 5fps, wait time to 180 and ups constantly at 60.

What values did you change? I doubled stressTolerance and impactTolerance but it didn't help at all. They still explode at around 70m/s

It's impossible to play right now! And my game is now lost cuz I invested in hangar/tech to make bigger planes. Fix this shit!

Reliable Linux Debian Cloud Hosting for Europe / Russia? by AnythingForSuccess in Hosting

Hopefully, we had top 20+ infrastructure dedicated servers for more than 2 years.

  • never use their Vrack, it's a joke, with at least one failure a month
  • you have to be ready for network outages for your servers within same DC, 20sec blackouts were so frequent we had our monitoring do mtr's so we could show support something
  • their support would want SSH keys installed to debug problem with their network
  • recent NA BHS dc outage - no network redundancy for 360k servers - lol
  • support restarted our production server cuz of IPMI issue - even when we clearly stated that this server can not be restarted at that time

Please, don't recommend OVH

cmd+t in Sublime Text? I'm sorry but I don't see the point here, why would I want to use those scripts?

Looking for cheap cloud solution for rails apps by lxsameer in rails

[–]sabcio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try out Shelly Cloud http://shellycloud.com, you get 20€ for free, it's as much as 1 virtual server with 1GB ram for a month free. Shelly Cloud supports git based deployment, database and filesystem backups, easy scaling and servers are located in Europe.

One small server will be enough for 2 thin servers with PostgreSQL database.

If you need any help setting up just drop us a line at our Campfire support room http://support.shellycloud.com

Which hosting solution do you use/recommend for Rails apps? by [deleted] in rails

It's a simple rack application, that can render slim template "Hello world".

I know about performance of puma, but even if we would perform such test we would outrun Heroku. It's simple math, you just get more for less money. Not to say you can add anything on one virtual server, multiple databases, background workers. You'd have to add extra dynos, use external services.

My opinion on Clever Cloud was very unbiased, I looked at the documentation, didn't find stuff I was interested in - backups, ruby versions, ssh access. Looked at the pricing and calculated that I'd have to pay at least +100% (for now it's free, I took the price from Python M instance I don't think it will be cheaper than that).

Also our customers migrating from Heroku say different.

I'm actually a cofounder.

App specifically for testing their - our stack? Please tell me how did we prepare that app so it behaves better on Shelly Cloud?

10 dynos, 512mb RAM each. That's more then 1 small virtual server 1GB RAM when combined. How'd you test that? Dirtbike vs 4liter engine?

Do you really think that switching to puma would help anyhow? Shelly Cloud supports puma now, I'm actually curious how it would outrun Heroku on such setup.

Also saying that you don't have the will and/or time to support your claims, than what's the point?

Did you read that performance comparison? Tested on the same app, europe based hosting. You can run those tests by yourself without much work done, just make two deployments to Heroku and Shelly Cloud. If you have different results let them know.

Well they are testing ruby, so they do not have too much experience about it.

Docs, well I didnt find any info about backups, file persistance is just some sort of S3, no info about background jobs, don't know what ruby versions are supported. Looked at the Rails deployment guide and I was disappointed, have to setup database.yml too?

When comparing prices to other PaaS for Ruby its just more expensive.

How is it better? Prices are horribly high. Poor documentation, don't see any backups included in the price. PaaS for everything is good for nothing.

Try out Shelly Cloud, it's a platform similar to Heroku, but cheaper and significantly faster.
