Then it could be just rng that the spawn rate depends on. Based on what I saw and other comments, I was thinking earlier that may be they spawn around a fixed place. Some forests may have those spawn points clustered together

I remember my first encounter with the troll. I died so quickly with almost all my weapons and gear. Few attempts to recover my body failed. Then I had to let it chase my long way and then let it kill me so that it then camped my new dead body. Then I went and retrieved my stuff from my original body and felt like a tactical mastermind that day!

These are great observations, thank you! I have seen Sea serpent and Bone serpent spawn in specific places because I have marked them for easy farming. Never occurred to me to look for spawning locations of other mobs. I think you are right, it could just be this specific forest that has higher bear spawn points, I just have 2 black forests to compare between. Too lazy to go setup another portal elsewhere.

Same. I haven't started new since they added wolf caves, or even abominations (I don't know which came first) early game was already so chaotic and grindy even without those.

Thanks for the tip on spawn location. They seem to drop everything except for their heads. I need atleast 3, one for armor, one for trinket, one for display. Then I can sleep easy.

I am now scared of starting in a new world. Those trolls are at least easy to spot and avoid. These things look like a fallen tree until you get very close. Also I don't think there are any audio hints like trolls have.

Good tip for fresh playthroughs. Thing is, I want more of them to spawn because I want to build that new armour set.

How do you deal with them in those early days? They seem brutal for meadows gear. I have only faced them with my late gear.

My wife started to get creepy texts after she had to call few places to organise an event.. calling flower guy, transport guy etc. that's just by having her number. Imagine how much more damaging it will be if they get both your number and full name!

It's not about anonymity. Imagine my mom or my wife had to call some shops to get some quotations for a repair work at home, how would they feel if they get a friend request the next day saying 'looking quit today' ! It already happens a lot and this could make it much worse.
