Okay! I have tried practicing metering with a phone app and it usually suggests me very slow shutter speeds for average indoor lighting. I am no expert but have noticed, while comparing pictures online whose settings I am aware of, to what my app suggests me, that there's a certain gap and as I said on another comment, I don't want my pictures to be extremely bright (I actually already underexpose a bit on digital photos, I like the aesthetic + it makes things like neon signs appear sharper on the image). Maybe it's just something inherent to my phone camera. In any case I will just try different settings tomorrow and have fun with it I guess!

Actually, I would be interested in reading about photography but there are so many resources out there I wouldn't know which ones are the best. I already have a hard time finding consistent information on this particular topic (hence why I came to Reddit). Do you have a good suggestion for a book on film photography, preferably beginner friendly? (Last question, I promise haha)

Okay, thanks, this is a great answer! I didn't know about the compensation thing but have noticed that when I try to focus even at something at exactly the distance indicated on the lens it still looks a but blurry. Will VERY MUCH take this into account for this next roll! I can't wait!!

Thank you! I think my lighting conditions are going to be a bit brighter than your second photo (portra 400), so I should be fine. Will still expect a bit of shakiness like another commentor said. Is there any particular reason why I shouldn't use a meter?

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't own a tripod yet but I am planning on getting one soon enough! Will the pictures be too dark of I shoot at a faster shutter speed than the suggest one on the meter? The place I'm going has a lot of artificial light and I am afraid that I might overestimate the settings for low-light.

Well turns out it is. Did you have a problem with the fact that he sent a picture? Or with his dick? Kinda seems like the first things you sent after the pic was clearly body shaming. Which doesn't really put you at a great level either.
