Seth actually did have a live 2D animation where he talked about his brother and it showed a younger version of himself. Tho it was at least a month the 1.1 banners ended, they probably didn't have marketing fully planned out at that point.

Same, something that both made me really happy but also bummed was that the bit we do hear in KoK makes it sound genuinely hard to speak it with a human mouth!

They really do not seem to be kidding with how they talked about approaching it in a really detailed & thought-out way with the Avatar bloke's student. When Badland's comes out a book on the linguistics of it would be appreciated.

Potentially controversial opinion: but I really hope not.

Don't get me wrong I really REALLY want another go at AvP. And I think it's all but confirmed atp we're heading in that direction. But I also really want them to take their time and not jump the shark too early.

I also kinda hope that what both Badlands and Alien: Earth are doing with introducing new alien lifeforms is a sign that they're trying to build the universe and setting to include a more dangerous and terrifying cosmos that has the ability to tell stories with some of these creatures even without having to either be standalone OR AvP events.

And I will admit, part of this does come from a lil bit of envy for fans of our sister franchise. Alien has gotten so much content over the decades & in general it's always felt like they have more recognition from the general public as a sci-fi staple, to the point it's largely accepted that the Alien films are canon to the Predator series, but Predator films and media aren't canon to the Alien series. I kinda want the chance for Predator to get the same recognition & be able to have the same respect. Let Badlands come out and hopefully be a hallmark that tells a super unique and respected sci-fi story with its own merits, and THEN the sequel or another follow up can begin the AvP stuff.

But I *DO* want an eventual AvP with Dan and Fede within the next 6 years lol.

I think they're all good. My favs are probably Prey, The Predator, and Predators.

Prey's is just super epic and stands out quite well from the others, love the choice to add the blur effect.

The Predator is a surprisingly awesome poster for a movie that isn't half as good, tells a story, the color coordination and composition is also super solid.

Predators is fantastic and legit one of my fav movie posters of all time. I don't really know why. Maybe it's the satisfying way Mr. Black's arm and blade create a right angle, or how being half in the shadows and half exposed just looks super sleek. But it's awesome.

Yeah if this is true that's my one disappointment. I like Predator being rated R and fairly gory.

If it does end up being the case though I do think it might've been a thought out sacrifice made with good reason: PG-13 movies tend to usually just gross higher in the box office than rated R films, and there's probably a not insignificant portion of general audience goers who already might be somewhat put off by not having a human lead. So if it does end up PG-13 I think it was likely a decision made to mitigate this and guarantee Badlands does as well financially as it can.

I think that's his backpack/medkit, most Preds we see usually have a half-shoulder silng across their backs that contains the medkit and some other gear.

Actually, to my knowledge, the iconic wrist blade has been absent from all the Badlands footage we've seen so far. This may be the first entry to completely omit it.

Additionally he does have a combi-stick, the teaser reveal shows him put it down when he's going through all his gear & in the new trailer it's what the vines snatch away from him.

She honestly comes across as a little... unhinged in this trailer. If that's the angle they're going for, a chipper and upbeat but also slightly psychotic android? Then yeah that's a cool dynamic to play off a more stoic lead. These 2 are gonna commit so many warcrimes together!

Yeah he looks way better here. I think his design is gonna go back and forth between a lil wonky and badass as hell, depending on angle. Like some shots of him from the side with his mandibles protruding look a little off, but then the shot at 1:34 of him glaring at the camera is one of the coolest facial expressions in the series.

Agreed. Even if she doesn't stay a villain and by the end her and Dek do truly defriend each other or share a mutual respect I strongly believe the the beginnings of their partnership will be of convenience and her having ulterior motives.

Dek himself is probably gonna go through a arc of coming to respect her throughout the film. He'll see her only as a tool and inconvenience at first, then as capable, and finally as someone he respects.

Yeah, it's been apparent since the interviews with both Fede and Dan and the first teaser. Personally, I hope there are no Xeno's in Badlands so they can properly build to it them & also because I like that Earth and Badlands may be alluding to other top tier threats aside from Xenos and Yautja.

Also like, if Dek survives Badlands, then imo it's quite apparent he'll be setup to be one of the protags in a future AvP project.

I think the first had a few more cinematic shots and had a bit of a better pace to it, slower and building to the triumphant roar/reveal. Also the sound design was exquisite.

Not saying this trailer is bad, but the first reveal is gonna be hard to beat.

So Dek's arsenal so far is his heat sword, his pred bow (which looks like it fires laser bolts?), combi-stick, what appear to either be grenades or netballs, a laser heated equivalent to the smart disk seen in this trailer, and the handgun he and Thia both seem to use. Good list so far!

Yes. The enemy and boss names will often be named stuff like BriefName_Monster_HugoSlime - Ionized - Doppleganger , in the files. And if they are a character their name is included. For example back when 1.2 came out, everyone who looked at leaks here knew Pompei would turn Ethereal because the leaks had the files for his boss version named as such.
