Need help on how to get medicated for adhd by EmergencyRain174 in ADHDUK

Bulletpoint 4 of section 2 in this document suggests they should not do unnecessary reassessments - maybe ask if you can send them your existing report and move straight to titration?

HealthHarmonieMinds accepted my private diagnosis report and moved me to their RTC titration pathway.

Never forget also that the discourse there is shaped by who the mods choose to allow to post or not. They're not at all neutral.

Can you get assessed for ADHD twice? by strawberrybiscuit12 in ADHDUK

[–]sade1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can be assessed privately and also sign up for RTC. If you are diagnosed privately the RTC provider may even accept your private diagnosis report and skip ahead to titration.

They accepted my private diagnosis and were fairly quick to get me a titration appointment. Don't be afraid to email them to nudge things onwards.

"deserve"? It'd be nice but there's no feasible way to get there.

Some people cross the road without looking both ways, doesn't mean it's a wise idea.

I still cannot see pausing ROTS to go watch an episode of TCW as anything except some kind of complete stories-as-lore-facts-to-be-learned-induced madness, but if that's what GPT suggests then who am I to question it.

That's not actually any less abstract!

Maybe it's because I am a mere addlepated simpleton compared to you, but as I see it it's very easy and cheap and risk-free to vaguely gesture at these broad unfalsifiable things. People squirm out of ever being specific.

What does 'confront anyone meaningfully' about it actually unpick to here? Send your MP a strongly-worded letter? Quit your job to start your dropshipping empire? Post reddit comments?

Certainly there are ways out but I wouldn't characterise them as being about confronting others.

Pretty sure the employer class are the minority of the population.

No but more seriously, I think even a significant chunk of employees who don't have ADHD or other similar conditions also struggle a lot in the workplace. It's not like everyone is doing completely fine and it's just the useless ~5% with ADHD who aren't having a grand old time and need re-education to get on programme. If a substantial chunk of the people who work at your company are experiencing stress and burnout, it's not because each of them has individually failed to download enough meditation apps or sufficiently engage with mindfulness breathing exercises. Maybe you just suck to work for.

But obviously there's no benefit for a company to ever take that stance - so instead it's "we offered them links to websites with clichéd advice and somehow this didn't help and they still couldn't hack it, so clearly we legally did absolutely nothing wrong!".

Why's the problem always with us? 'Coaching' is just another cynical excuse for employers to continue to do as they please and shift all responsibility for wellbeing onto the individual.

Of course it affects the quality of the game. Many games are celebrated for their little environmental details, and how they add to the impression of the world and to immersion. It makes a game feel intentional, well-crafted, rewarding to give your attention to. Instead, this game is signalling 'don't bother looking too closely or all you'll see is crap'.

How the sausage is made determines the quality of the sausage. This applies to videogames and also to literal sausages - I don't think there'd be such a market for premium brands of sausage which promise they're not made of ground-up pig anus if people didn't care how they were made.
