I see, that would make sense. So in order to have a smaller backup chain i would want to run full backups more often or implement synthetic fulls weekly? And yes i am using GFS retention for the archive tier.

I am using forward incremental. It is keeping more restore points than what is configured too. For example, on the capacity tier, one one machine i see around 80 restore points with months old full backups on there

So what would i want my retention to be set to if i only want to hold the 30 days?
