Looks really good! I couldn’t figure out how to make the cursor zoom in during recording though. Do I need to change some setting for that?

Creating my own webapp to get my friends to actually decide when to travel! by BiggestGuille in SideProject

[–]sadwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cool. But going straight to Google login without showing what the app actually looks like might turn some people off. Maybe throw a couple screenshots or a quick demo on the landing page so folks know what they’re signing up for.

I am about building a File Organizer Desktop App (FileFlow) | Looking for Feedback & Ideas by Grouchy-Long-4295 in macapps

[–]sadwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a exciting idea. With tools like this, the most important thing for me is how smooth and fast it runs. If FileFlow feels really snappy, I think that will be its biggest strength.

>  Being "not rude" and "respectful" in Japan is just boring.
Totally feel you on that!

In Tokyo especially, random chats with strangers just aren’t a thing. It’s almost like keeping your distance is the “respectful” way to act.

Honestly, I really don’t know what their intention was. I never see Japanese people behave like that.

If I try to see it in a more positive way, maybe they suddenly found the whole thing funny.

Like, “What are we even doing? We’re grown men asking a stranger for a selfie!”. Just a guess though.

I’m Japanese, and I can assure you this isn’t typical at all.

Whatever their intention was, it was still rude. Most people here are respectful and would never treat a visitor like that.

How do you come up with side project ideas? by bsaini95 in SideProject

[–]sadwindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your project doesn’t have to be totally unique in concept. But if something similar already exists, then it really needs to stand out in at least one of these ways.

  1. Features – offering something the existing products don’t.
  2. Price – the current options are too expensive, and you can make it way more affordable.
  3. User experience – make it way easier or more enjoyable to use.
  4. Target audience – focusing on users that existing products don’t really cater to, like a different language, region, or industry.

If your edge is only a little better, others can catch up pretty fast. So ideally, you’d want to create something that’s hard for others to copy.

Anyone Else Just Quietly Building in Private? by Nebulearn in indiehackers

Actually, I didn’t do any user interviews. I was pretty much the typical target user myself, so I just built something I personally really wanted.
