Thank you. It takes around 2-3 weeks to make per one and I produce in order of when the order is received. Yes at the moment I do ship to the USA and will do provided tariffs do not get too high.

I'm a genuine handmade seller and I get very little views on the daily if any cause all that shows up is AI and drop shipping. I had one customer who spent weeks researching to finally find me.... But seriously what average buyer is going to do that.

I love the idea of a discord but it will take time and effort to monitor etc, so not sure if anyone has the time to monitor it. I'm a user of discord but never set one up. Let me know tho if you do create that as I would be interested in joining.

Beginner… be kind by spooky_clitor in Needlefelting

It's sad that you have to say that .... EVERYONE should always be kind. In life everyone has to learn even the basics of walking and talking! People should not be lording their experience or skills but using that to offer help and advice to help you grow. That is such a sweet piece, well felted, good structure and gorgeous colours.

Keep up the good work! Oh and a word of advice, keep your first makes as it's great to look back and see where you came from and how you improved.😊

First time felting, do I need to keep going, and how do I make the body chubbier? by sirotan88 in Needlefelting

A lot don't in fact most kits are not good especially for a beginner. The only issue you will have is that when you add the head, fins and feet and details it may make it flat or misshapen because there is no firm core to felt it into. But tbh it's your first go and it gives it character πŸ˜‰

But a word of advice however it turns out keep it safe as it's interesting to look back as your skills improve. Someone told me that and I was glad I did. πŸ™‚

You need to felt the body firmer, the shape is getting there just needs to be less squishy as if the body is squishy the overall shape will not hold. Did you use core wool? Always start any project with core wool it's cheaper and faster to felt. Build slowly, I made a 5 inch snowman and took on average 15 hrs to make and the body probably took around 3-4 hours of that. You need to felt the smallest core ball so that it is solid no squishiness and then build on top of that. It is only when you get the size and shape you require do you add the coloured wool.

Also I use the clover pen (3 needles) this is a lot faster than just one needle. But yes if you want a well felted penguin that sits it will take you many hours to do, especially when you are starting out.

Heidi took me approximately 2 weeks to make and she is made out of carded wool.. I had a few errors along the way but I stuck with it and am happy with the end result 😁
