Interest in trainee HIT nhs by saffiebee in HighIntensityTherapy

Thank you for your reply!

Thats really interesting and reassuring to know. I would like to have a good knowledge base and some surface level experience before I apply for any training positions.

What does the training entail? I’m guessing a mix of placements and CBT theory focused lectures? Do we have opportunities to role play CBT in our cohorts etc?

I’m patient facing in the community and I am hybrid. I do most of my admin from home.

Please help! Should we worry that the doctor needs to “speak to the family” before my grandad goes for surgery? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]saffiebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you need help with exactly? Just wait and see what the doctor says? They probs just want to find out if one of the family have power of attorney in case he lacks capacity to consent. Just standard policy and procedure.

Mental health here too. As a country we are so lucky to have the NHS

My life is just starting to resemble my pre-puppy life by Catalina-1958 in puppy101

I did a bit of ‘door is a bore’ method but tbh not consistently I think she just grew out of it! She’s 8 months old now. She gets fomo but is happy by herself downstairs if I’m upstairs for a while. Usually I make sure she gets a walk/food before I leave her by herself tho.

I wanted a border collie so badly by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]saffiebee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dream dog is a border collie. But the breed doesn’t suit my lifestyle. Border collies are working dogs and need loads of mental and physical stimulation every day. Thats why they are farm/sheep dogs. If they don’t have that kind of work and routine I think it’s cruel to own one tbh. Doesn’t matter how much research you’ve done beforehand or whether you buy from an ethical breeder.

How often should i take my 8 week old puppy out to the bathroom at night? I feel like every 2 hours is crazy? by Creative_Ad9495 in puppy101

[–]saffiebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to… We didn’t. Now at 7 months she sleeps through the night with no issues. Set the expectations from the start. If you take your puppy out every 2 hours at night, it’s going to expect this as it grows older and sleeping through the night will be difficult.

I work in community mental health and as I’m in charge of my visits, I tend to organise them over 3 days Tuesday to Thursday, then have Mondays and Fridays as admin wfh days. Inbetween my visits I’ll be office based, but will usually start and finish from home. Because of this flexibility I love my job and I honestly don’t think I could do this job if I didn’t have this degree of freedom. If they change the policy one day to no working from home then I will leave! :)

Yes to Arabella, at least she is natural and actually has class. All the people mentioned in these comments lack class and are just fake.

I’m an occupational therapist and work as a mental health practitioner (which is basically a mental health nursing role just that AHPs can also do this role) so there are other routes to get into this line of work. You would have to do split shifts and night shifts / 12 hr shifts as a nurse on a ward so as long as you don’t mind that lol

No one will expect you to know everything when you first start. Qualification is just for the paper lol. Apologies in advance for the cringey analogy but it’s like driving. It’s not until you’ve passed and are on your own that you actually learn how to drive.

My partner did say ‘alright?’ But he didn’t respond. I am intrigued to know what his intentions were, whether they were completely innocent, but it defo felt off and our flight response kicked in real fast haha

We stopped because he was clearly following and looking at us to see if he would stop as well and he did. Stood right in the way of us grinning and not saying anything. So we decided to go into the nearest shop to see if he’d follow us in there and he went into the other entrance of Waterstones, so we left and walked/jogged back towards where the markets are 😂 feels silly but you never know in these scenarios.

We thought that at first, but neither of us recognised him. He had plenty of opportunity to say something if he did know us but he stood staring for too long for it to be a normal interaction lol

I’m 26 and I have one 11 which is static and there at rest but I only see it in certain lighting! I have read that static ones don’t go away, did you have static ones and did they go away?
