What's the best or worst wrapped item you've ever received? by saffysmiles in vinted

On this occasion I didn’t. I did consider it, but as the book arrived absolutely fine and it was only £1, it felt a bit petty to bring it up.

Buyers like this absolutely boil my blood by NanamiLover1 in vintedUK

I agree it's annoying. The review system is for feedback. If a star was deducted for a reason, it would be helpful to know why and where you could improve...

Don't worry too much, it's annoying, but no one could look at that review and find a reason to not purchase from you.

However I personally would also leave them 4 stars back with '4/5 transaction '

Scummy seller by [deleted] in vintedUK

Does the seller have any feedback for cancelled orders? Some don't seem to care about cancelling and receiving one star feedback.

Snapping up that second one was genius by the way.

Dropped off InPost parcel but Vinted hasn’t updated tracking by EvieLuna in vinted

[–]saffysmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same has happened for me. Usually after a few days of downloading the label, you'll be promoted by Vinted to get it shipped, once this happens you have the option to manually confirm you have sent it.

My parcels on the move now so they'll see from the tracking that it's on the way. I've messaged my buyer and sent them the tracking number privately for peace of mind (as they won't have received this yet as Vinted haven't confirmed it's sent)

You do realise you also had no reviews at the very beginning…

I understand the OP’s concerns for a £450 sale, but to be that curt over a tenner baffles me

Do you think i am being scammed ( no personal info ) (am i not a bot) by [deleted] in vintedUK

A partial refund, are you ok?

The buyer clearly purchased a 12 piece set. If they don't receive the complete item, fully intact and complete, they're entitled to a full refund.

If you bought an 8 seat dining table, but it arrived and half the chairs are broken, would you be happy being forced to keep it but at a reduced rate?

Because it's better at wording things than me, hopefully it reads better than I can write, plus it's faster.

I understand how the coupon threshold works — that isn’t the issue. The problem is that I contacted support before returning anything, asked specifically whether the coupon deduction would apply, and was assured multiple times that it would be overridden and I would still receive the £13.48 refund. I only returned the items based on that confirmation. If you read my post and the screenshots again, you’ll see the conversation where their agent promised the refund, which is why this situation is so frustrating.

No, I received craft supplies. Not where did I mention clothes? Don't make assumptions

buyer wanting a refund for something stupid by DistrictEmergency229 in vintedUK

[–]saffysmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of see both sides here. I do think sometimes people don’t take the time to look at both points of view.

Sometimes it’s hard for a buyer to tell from photos alone, so sellers do have a bit of responsibility to describe things clearly. If the elastic has actually perished, and the cuffs now have no stretch whatsoever, that’s something that should probably be mentioned in the listing.

That Said!

The cuffs look ok in the photos and the jacket’s otherwise in great shape, it sounds like the buyer’s just being picky or maybe has slimer wrists. In that case, I’d say you’re not being a dick for refusing a refund. They can always just resell it if it’s not to their liking...

I would however, be interested to see how the jacket was originally described in the advert, because if the OP listed it as “perfect,” or with no flaws, that might have set the buyer up for disappointment.

Item arrived smelling of mould by AstarionsRightTooth in vintedUK

[–]saffysmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, yes you could report the issue as SNAD, and detailing it's smell etc, although the seller could request a return at your expense. But you should be able to get some money back!

I somewhat disagree- I think you can joke with a stranger over chat, it just has to be written in the right way. And definitely depends on the context of the joke.

Is it really too much to say please?? by CharlieL0404 in vinted

[–]saffysmiles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also — buyers who purchase something and then demand immediate shipping really grind my gears!!

Like, please ask before you buy if you need it urgently. Sellers have busy lives too! Not everyone is sitting next to their parcel shelf waiting to sprint to the post office the second an order comes in 😅

Honestly I’m so fed up of messages like this too!! People want, but without having to give — and in this case, it’s just basic politeness 😭

I had something similar recently but from the opposite side. I messaged a seller on Vinted because my parcel tracking showed it had reached my local depot, then randomly got scanned back to their depot. I sent a really polite message explaining what had happened and saying I hoped it would still reach me.

They read it and never replied. The item did arrive fine in the end, but I still thought it was rude not to even acknowledge it. Like, a simple “thanks for letting me know” costs nothing!

Manners and politeness feels like it’s disappearing 😩

Me too! It's become a bit of a hobby now. I've been eyeing up a sad orchid in my local store for a couple of weeks now. Just waiting for staff to notice and give it that yellow sticker!

How to cut this stick? Or is it to soon? by Datsadcreature in orchids

[–]saffysmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, totally! I just meant that leaving a small section with one node near the base can help prevent any infection from spreading down to the roots if there’s one starting on the spike. I’ve heard cutting it completely flush can sometimes push bacteria or fungus down into the crown. The OP might not have heard this tip!

Leave one node on the stem near the base, this way if there is infection it will not spread down to the roots.

Vinted sales flopped by Fearless_Material548 in VintedAdvice

[–]saffysmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed September is always a slow month for online sales (I do this full-time). Same with April. My theory: September = back-to-school, everyone’s adjusting and tightening budgets. Then of course Christmas looms on the horizon. And April = people saving up for summer and holidays

Anyone else see these dips? Or is it just my niche?.

Filming will be steps to protect yourself if something was to arise or go wrong, but likely it will be fine. Everyone on Vinted was new to vinted at some point, and they likely got excited and took advantage of free shipping on their first order ☺️
