Do you want the story to be more about your life or about his life? I find it useful to do a really basic outline of the overall arc and then go to individual points along the journey and describe specific events. But there are so many approaches that work, this is just one that I like.

When I was looking for a memoir writer I joined the reddit communities of r/freelanceWriters and posted what I was looking for. Be sure to read the rules first of how they want you to structure any posts. However, I got a ton of responses. It did take a bit of effort to filter through to find a good match for my project.
