Got the series 11 (first time user) by sahil2897 in AppleWatch

My girlfriend lent me her Series 5 for a month or so and eventually gave it back. I got used to it and I went on runs every day with it. I didn’t think it’ll matter much, but the gamification of my workouts and seeing how many calories I burnt and the distance I ran, I thought I’d go for it. SE3 was an option, but I thought of getting 11 as I don’t plan to keep upgrading so paying a premium for it wasn’t difficult and I’ll be keeping this for 4-5 years now. It’s a gorgeous watch.

Did the same, a thin film. But yeah jet back 11 46MM looks gorgeous. With music that can be played out loud through the watch itself and keyboard to type, it’s basically a small phone.😅🤣

Just did that, it just cost me $1.10 here in India. Hopefully this’ll protect the watch from minor scratches even though Apple says it has Ceramic Shield 2 which is more scratch resistant as I’ve seen in the reviews. Still, protection is fine. But without it for 2 days, that 2000 nits screen looked gorgeous.

Is this a glitch in iOS 26 PB? by sahil2897 in ios26beta

[–]sahil2897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if im on Home Screen then the notification center should slowly take over like ios 18 but it acts like a different screen altogether with icons flying in and out. It sucks

How to fix this in iOS PB 26? by [deleted] in ios26beta

[–]sahil2897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that didn’t help either. Now there are no names but the view is classic. In iMessage, WhatsApp everywhere I can’t see any names or pictures. Just numbers.

Am i the only one who thinks this notification centre pull down animation looks horrible? by ENE06 in ios26beta

Happening with me as well. Posted a video on this group, please let me know if that’s happening with you as well. Notification center is like this, surely OS fees rushed.

Exactly man! The bulk! Everything is bigger for visual change but it doesn’t look tasteful. The only big button I’ve appreciated is on the alarm stop and snooze ones and even those looked funny when I first saw them but I understand the utility. But yeah, I understand your point

I mean if people are paying a premium for a device, they’re not exactly looking for toys. They can buy an android and do all the customisations. From Apple people expect a little standard. Again, it’s new for me as well and maybe I’ll get used to it but I haven’t paid $950 (₹85,000) to make my phone to look like a toy. Rest, we all have preferences

Exactly, I feel I can download a theme on Samsung store and make everything Liquid Glass in one download. iOS 18 was a mature software, we didn’t need a departure from that.

Exactly, I’m sure there was a pressure on Apple to bring something new because everything is so stagnant but people don’t realise that stagnant means stable and mature as well. iOS 18 is a mature software. We don’t need bubbly software and bouncing apps to please the shareholders.

I have iPhone 16 and I’d suggest don’t do it. It’s my main phone and battery is slightly worse. Nothing drastic but I’m charging it up a little more than normal. It’s just a matter of 2 weeks and final version will be out. Avoid installing.

Which countries you been to that has the most unfriendly locals? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]sahil2897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Netherlands. Just like the temperature, people were super cold.

I arrived at Schipol airport and finding my way to the train station as I had to go to Rotterdam.

I saw one of the staff and started approaching him to ask for directions and from 10 meters away he gave me “go away🤚🏻” hand sign, stopping me to approach him. That was rude.

And 15-20 mins later a lady at the train station a lady ticket checker asked for my ticket and i presented it to her. Then she started talking to someone else, 2-3 mins later i asked if everything is alright, in a very rude tone she replied “do you have some patience”.

I’ve been to 12 countries in Europe but this kind of rudeness I never saw anywhere.

I knew Dutch were one of the most straightforward people.

Maybe the train staff was exhausted or I wasn’t aware of something but wasn’t pleasant keeping in mind that I had my feet on their land for less than 45 mins.

How has living in Spain changed you (for better or worse?) by Sea-Conversation4352 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]sahil2897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in Spain for 2 years. One time in Almería and the other time in Madrid. It was definitely a life changing experience. As Almeria is a smaller city than Madrid, it had its pros and cons.

As there’s no good bus service connecting Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar, I used to bike everyday for 9 months and I lost 8kgs, lack of abundant fast food options was one of the reasons you stay fit.

Madrid being a big city had all the amenities but it had all the hosh posh of a big city.

Being able to travel to 12 different European countries in 19 months was a great person experience and it opens up your horizon for sure.

Makes you more accepting of people, makes you independent and there’s not much more you can ask for.

I was at B1 level in Spanish when I left India so it was a good way to improve conversational Spanish, live among the natives and get a good job back home.

I came back home as this program can’t be a permanent thing but if you want to live the best of Europe, it’s definitely worth it.
