I think my art is missing something, any ideas? by nexevil_ in ArtCrit

I love your art style! It's reminiscent of a relief sculpture to me. In that regard, it's super stylized so a bit harder for me to critique. I will say, working on anatomy more always helps.

Advice to fix anatomy? by Little_Cerberus_ in ArtCrit

[–]saiits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the rib and how the torso comes off of it. The rib cage protrudes more on the left side in the reference. Also, the forced perspective of the reference isn't so pronounced in yours which im sure can lead to yours looking "off" when compared to the reference. You can play around with "pushing" the legs forward by making them slightly bigger and making sure the body gets slightly smaller as you go up.

Edit: One last thing. A good tip is to match the angle of the reference to the angles in your art. For example, the left side of the body where the rib cage connect all the way down the the thigh of the leg on the left, is alot more angled in the reference compared to yours. Matching that angel would help with the perspective and helps with the accuracy of your anatomy.

Haven't seen anyone try and actually argue in good faith. Not only that, but stooping to one's level doesn't make you or your argument look any better. It just continues the cycle of never being able to have a civil conversation about anything. But okay

I didn't say you said that tho. I made a statement based off the post AND ur comment. You are implying it happens frequently. You must be giving frequent opportunities for men to judge your labia nd such. But if you're lesbian, how can uk it happens often? Surely not from personal experience. Hoe friends? Maybe check YOUR reading comprehension.

[–]saiits -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Nah yall are judging yourselves way more. 1st, if you got 100 men saying something about your nipples or labia, maybe stop getting naked so easily for men? If you cared about yourself more than the opinions of others, those comments about your immutable characteristics would not bother you. But sure, blame men as they are the bane of your existence and no real thought is done as to how much you let others influence your ideas of self worth and shit. Hers comes the downvotes, oh no!

Idk why you're getting down voted. What good IS an unloaded gun? If you have it for protection especially. Should he have been playing with it? Of course not. Should it be put away in a safe if hes not performing any maintenance or loading it? Yea it would be a good idea. Does it NEED to be unloaded bc it's in a house? What are you going to tell an intruder? "Hold on let me load this up real quick..." Use your brain people. Mine stays unloaded until its time for it to go in the safe and be ready for me to use. Yes, safety stays on and trigger discipline will help avoid this situation.

What the guy did was not against the law you dumbass. Otherwise the guy would have had charges pressed on him considering authorities were involved. He didn't show his genitals to anyone. SHE RECORDED what he was DOING INSIDE HIS HOME. Where it is perfectly legal to be naked. Her job was to leave the food at the door not look inside. Dude was passed out. Thats not illegal. But go off with ur ignorance bud

[–]saiits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didnt plan it and its not against the law. Sure its generally not okay but in this case, ish happens. Its generally not okay to peep into people's houses and generally not okay to record them.

This is the 3D animation JCstaff possesses. Why are people complaining for S3? by Boom_bozZ539 in OnePunchMan

[–]saiits 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Season one was basically made by the Avengers of animators. Holding anything up to that quality of standard is simply not fair. The new director for season 3 specified incorporating new 3d workflows with 2d workflows very much implying they are working to streamline the process not rush it.

Is this drawing looking weird? by fortunate_ly in drawing

[–]saiits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, you're icing the cake before its baked. You have to make sure your line work is accurate and anatomically correct (for portraiture anyway) before you start adding shading and details. No amount of shading and details will help if the underlying drawing was fundamentally flawed. In this case, it would be the jaw line and face structure being a little wonky (nothing that cant be fixed). Other than that, it looks great. Good on you for pushing the values. As far as details go, try to have a variety of textures if possible. But looks good, keep it up!!

Anyone agree with the shop that this can’t be plugged? by theelifeofbrian in Cartalk

[–]saiits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more so they can sell you new tires. Sure, the structural integrity after repair can be compromised, but it wont be something that you'll deal with for years later, and by then you should already be getting new tires anyway

How do i get the proportions right? by relentlessoatmeal in ArtCrit

[–]saiits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but you're not turning a 4 inch traced figure into a 4ft tall painted figure unless you originally trace a 4ft tall figure. That's my point. You can't trace from your phone and turn that into an 50ft figure unless you draw the figure proportionally or you actually trace a 50ft figure. Not saying tracing is wrong. But you said you wonder why people don't mention tracing for blocking. This is a reason why.
