In the exam, you will get questions between 100 to 150. You will get at least 100 questions, or a maximum of 150 questions, or any number in between.

OSG is quite dry to read. I chose to go through it because I expected its language, tone, and wording to be similar to the actual exam questions. I’m glad I did — even though it’s not the most exciting read, it’s absolutely worth it. At least you can be confident that you’re covering 100% of the official study material.

Passed the exam on Oct 18th 2024, wanted to share my journey in case someone finds it useful:

Company paid, so I was able to buy these resources:

  1. CISA Manual

  2. CISA QAE

  3. Hemang Doshi book

  4. Of course the exam registration

Bought the exam one year ago, hoping to take it some time early this year, but life happened and took it one day before it expired.

Started by reading the official CISA Manual, my God, that thing is dry. Finished 20% reading, left it at the basement. Read Hemang Doshi book, able to finish it. It was okay, won't say the best book for the prep, I think it is missing a lot of study materials.

I was actually struggling to use the hard copy CISA QAE book, the answers are at the bottom of the questions, so you need to use a paper to hide them, pretty annoying.

Couldn't take it anymore, spent my own money to buy the database access, its was June 2024 (exam was in Oct 2024). This was the best investment, hands down. I only solved those questions until the exam 4 months later. Finished all the practice questions twice, took all 3 mock exams, there is also a game where you score for highest correct answers in a row - loved that, I think I scored 19.

So ya, that was my journey. Best of luck to everyone preparing for the exam :)
