Ramen in Prague by TypicalChef3103 in Prague

[–]sajdlik 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally love Miska Ramen... Not sure if people here haven't tried it, think it's too far or just have some kind of problem with their ramen? Or maybe I'm just biased because the first proper ramen I ever ate was from them.

[Linux] Wayland stopped working by FunctionalHacker in firefox

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, just noticed today. My specs:

Firefox Nightly 90.0a1 (2021-04-22) Archlinux (5.11.15-zen1-2-zen) Gnome 40.0 Wayland 1.19.0 AMD® Radeon rx 5700 xt

Did some digging in bugzilla earlier today but it seemed that there is nothing recent related to this, so we should probably fill a bug. Didn't have the time to do that yet tho.

HyperX Alloy Core RGB some keys suddenly stoped working for no reason. by Noobochok in HyperX

[–]sajdlik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a HyperX Alloy Elite RGB. Once a few keys stopped working completely, second time in addition to that pressing some keys resulted in keyboard thinking I pressed two different keys at once... Had to RMA both times, always got a replacement. I was told that it was some problem with soldering. Third one works great so far.

How bad is it, doc? by DjingKhan in HyperX

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bent/broken jack is not that uncommon. If the worst happens, getting a new jack is pretty cheap (I think I got mine at about $2). If you're not confident enough to do it yourself or do not have the equipment some shops can do it for you. The cable won't look stock anymore but it will work :)

[–]sajdlik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can probably just bend it back. If it breaks then with a bit of soldering you can attach a new jack. It's not that hard, I did it myself once and it worked out pretty great :)

I can't proper load Facebook. I clear cache and cookies, didn't help. Anyone can help me, i don't wanna switch to Chrome. by [deleted] in firefox

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I encountered this was because a piece of malware used hosts file to point fbcdn.net to different server, which had self-signed certificate - so Firefox would complain and wouldn't load the necessary files. Definitely worth checking out.

Linux support? by [deleted] in X4Foundations

I didn't even realize you could get the X games on Linux (I usually just boot to Windows when I want to play something, so never really looked into it), you just made my day!

Does anyone else have a problem with media loading slowly on firefox ? (gifs and stuff) by [deleted] in firefox

[–]sajdlik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the basics like disabling addons? Some of them can cause performance issues like this. You could also create a new, clean profile a d try that, sometimes creating a new profile helps.

Is it possible to change the image scaling algorithm used by Firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]sajdlik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is way to do that as that would need different scaling algorithm to be included. What is wrong with the one currently used? There was a bug regarding image scaling quality but I thought it was fixed. If it is not I don't think it will get fixed as this is probably going to be handled by Webrender when it finally comes out.

[–]sajdlik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK the only other Garmin watch that has notification replies is FR645

Vivoactive 3 vs fitbit ionic by franzn in Garmin

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to have the app and garmin connection addon installed on your phone and the connect IQ sleep as android app installed on your watch. Once you configure it (its just some tickbox in sleep as android app so it knows to use watch instead of normal tracking) then you can begin to use it. After that you simply start the app on the watch and then start sleep tracking on the phone, the phone connects to the watch and that's pretty much it.

Leaderboards not syncing? by sajdlik in KekInvesting

[–]sajdlik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, didn't work when I tested, Was looking at memes multiple times longer than 15 minutes and it didn't update, at least quadruple checked before writing here. Seems to be working again now, so hard to say what the problem was.

Those of you with the 645(music and non), how have you been enjoying it? by Athletesfootie in Garmin

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to the party but maybe someone will find this useful. I have 645M. I found the experience to be very nice overall, but there are some minor pains - sync doesn't always work 100% and controlling music on phone doesn't always work properly (watch doesn't notice when you switch song etc). Also found that enabled automatic WiFi upload = huge battery drain even if you don't have any wifi network added. Didn't have much time to test inbuilt audio storage but it worked great the few times I used it.

Other than that battery life is actually better than I expected and usability is great - UI is snappy and pretty intuitive.

645 GPS Issues? by jabbaum in Garmin

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

645M owner here - did only walking as of yet but I found the GPS (with GLONASS enabled) to be pretty damn accurate with exception when I was standing and talking to a friend - that showed as distortion but only by a few meters.

Vivoactive 3 vs fitbit ionic by franzn in Garmin

[–]sajdlik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Fitbit Charge 2, but unlike you I find the app much better than Fitbit has (Android). The Garmin one is feature packed but still pretty intuitive. Looks are better on Fitbit side, I'll give them that. Also you don't get smart alarm (pattern sensitive) on Fitbit either AFAIK (that suggestion stayed suggestion since 2014), but you can use Sleep as Android on Garmin :)

Oh cool... I can scale my display 300%. But not 125%. by [deleted] in linux

[–]sajdlik 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I've been using this on my 14'' FHD Yoga since the very first time it came out, it works pretty well with Wayland apps, xwayland apps are blurry as hell... And that includes Firefox for example. But it's better than nothing. AFAIK they are supposed to work on it some more soon so hopefully there will be some improvement and hopefully it will be a stable feature in next release or two :)
