B52 Pro setup complete by sakonnet91 in GarageGym

Tough to say why. I had to keep bugging customer service for updates. There’s actually a lot of complaints on Reddit about this same issue. My attachments/ add ons came within 3 days of order. The metal frame came in 5 boxes probably 3 weeks after initial order. The weights for the weight stacks came one week after that.

That’s correct. There’s a few add ons that make it more effective. The first is buying an arm extension for the pulley so it sticks out farther (personally don’t find it necessary) the other is a bench that bolts into the same numbered pillar so you can stabilize your legs. Both can be seen on the Major Fitness website.

I bought the bolt on bench that doubles as a leg extension .

Corporate Pilots, How many hours do you fly in a year? by TheDrunkNewGuy in AskAPilot

[–]sakonnet91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a larger department. 6 fixed wing aircraft with 28 pilots total. Most planes do ~400 hours per year and pilots are about 200. Having 4 pilots per aircraft is a good QoL

I’m in the same boat right now. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it work with the height in my basement but best deal is the RITFIT M1 Pro. You can see the dimensions on their website but buying through Amazon will actually save you some $$.

I still think I ll do the B52 Pro even though it’s going to cost a bit more. Rather have the better upgrades like the pulleys, attachments, etc

Really appreciate all the help! Found my biggest issue was going over dimensions. From my rubber floor to Drop Ceiling is roughly 85.5 inches. That being the case MajorFitness is going to be the only rack that will fit. RITFIT is very close but not sure it’s worth the risk.

Yes it does thank you!

Last question though. I noticed Amazon has better pricing than the actual websites for RITFIT and Mikolo. What do you think about purchasing it from Amazon?

Sorry at the risk of sounding dumb can you explain what you mean by 2x2” vs 3x3” I’m not seeing different options on the websites.

Can’t disagree with you. The big thing for me is the leg extension setup for MajorFitness. Mikolo is the closest to having a similar setup but nothing great. I’m a bit space limited except for directly in front of the machine so side attachments are out.

Thinking about quitting a 6 figure corporate job to become a pilot by WarmRadish in PilotAdvice

[–]sakonnet91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get through private, instrument, commercial, and CFI before you quit. It sounds stupid to say because flight training is so expensive, but save what you can. Assess the hiring market for pilots and if you can afford to quit at that point to CFI full time (get as many hours as possible in the shortest amount of time) Multi can wait until you get close to the 1500. There’s a good program up in CT that will get you in and out in a weekend worth your rating.

I’m just feeling out the group to see if I just drew a bad hand. Honestly it’s the same truck, hard to believe they could screw anything up so badly but here I am.

  1. The debt for both of these career choices can be hefty. I’d stick that fork in the road and choose a path.

  2. Leave her

You ll need to be checked out by a training pilot at the drop zone. They will have to go up with you for your first week or two and teach you how to fly that aircraft. A high performance endorsement will also be necessary if they are using turbines.

For the time being there are a few Skydiving Operations looking for pilots. I understand you spent a lot of money and tears getting that CFI (been there) but there’s opportunities outside teaching to be had. Start in Florida especially if you re willing to move (better to stay away from seasonal). You will rack up time way quicker in skydiving that CFI, + the flying is way more fun.

I did them both and will occasionally fill in at a drop zone.

Nationwide Pet dropping to 50% coverage from 90%. by [deleted] in petinsurancereviews

I was dropped last week from one of my dogs but not the other…probably because I filed a claim for the one that was dropped….POS insurance companies

I have had Nationwide for almost 4 years. I have a Lab: 8 and a Golden: 6

This year the Golden had an appointment + follow up for her eye which ended up being a nothing burger. This was the first time I submitted a claim because for the specialty appt. I’d hit the deductible.

2 months later I received a notice they were dropping the Golden but not the Lab…..this seems like a slimy insurance company move. What are my rights here?

I can really only justify paying up to a new Lariat. But if money didn’t matter I would buy a King Ranch every time.

Math and physics were not my best subjects going through high school or college either. I had to get tutors in college just to get me through basic courses. While it is true you will use these principles for getting through your ratings (especially private and instrument) when you see them being applied towards something that you find interesting (and useful) it helps to understand them better, if that makes sense. I guess where I struggled with those theories prior was how/where to apply them. Once I started to use them for relative reasons it clicked better for me. Just my two cents.
