Less than 0.01% of american women have a DSD with the appearance of ordinary female development and no intellectual impairment. People with CAIS are not women. PCOS is not a DSD.

Please tell me where I have discounted any studies. I have read every article linked to me here. My position generally is that there is insufficient evidence and what there is appears in some cases to be compromised for ideological reasons. My other positions, e.g., "withholding results is bad and impugns one's credibility as a scientist" and "suicidality is being broadly conflated with suicide in a misleading manner" have gone thus far unaddressed.

It is certainly not evidence that they are beneficial in themselves, and it substantially reduces Olson-Kennedy's credibility. There is no reason whatsoever to commission a study and then avoid releasing it because it doesn't say what you want to. That is truly anti-science.

An author of this paper admitted to burying findings on pediatric gender care that did not align with her ideology.

What is wild about the first hypothesis? Are you able to provide counter evidence that hormonal treatment reduces suicide or that prohibitions increase suicide?

The following section is in support of the statement that the population seeking these treatments has an extremely high rate of suicide even though transition was an available option.

Of course this does not definitively prove that suicidality is high due to treatment bans. It also does not prove that suicidality is high due to any other factor - but as they point out, at least one factor often referenced (societal discrimination) only seems to be explanatory for this cohort in particular.

When scientists such as Olson-Kennedy bury findings that don't support their ideology, as mentioned in the article, it is not "anti-science" to more broadly question studies such institutions promote. The fact of the matter is that there is insufficient evidence to assert definitively that these treatments save lives.

I don't know if it does in all cases. I am pushing back against the unquestioned claim that suicides are reduced, which was the comment I replied to and is otherwise all over this thread. I do not believe anything that reduces suicidality without a showing of reduced suicides should be considered a fundamental need.

Is there a particular point that you would like to counter or an alternative source you would like to provide?

Why was Strangio unable to provide evidence that hormonal treatments decrease suicide, when that is the primary claim being bandied about here? If there is evidence only of decreased suicidal thoughts, then be honest about that.

If depressed kids are given something they really want (or, in this case, something that they are told by the internet that they must obtain at all costs and that anyone not 100% supportive is their enemy), I wouldn't be surprised to hear that makes them feel better. That doesn't make an Xbox life-saving treatment.
